John Boyega Gives Rousing Speech During Peaceful Protests in London. Star Wars and Pacific Rim star, John Boyega joined the peaceful protests held in London, England and shared an inspiring speech with the crowd who were protesting police brutality in the US and around the world.

Boyega shared through tears: “Black lives have always mattered. We have always been important. We have always meant something. We have always succeeded regardless. And now is the time. I ain’t waiting. I’m speaking to you from my heart. Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this, but f**k that. Today is about innocent people who were halfway through their process. We don’t know what George Floyd could have achieved, we don’t know what Sandra Bland could have achieved, but today we’re going to make sure that won’t be an alien thought to our young ones.”

Boyega made it clear that it did not matter if his speech affected his career, but it seems he has inspired his employer! Lucasfilm, the studio responsible for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and more, shared their unified support of John Boyega and join him in his fight for social justice.

Lucasfilm shared in a statement: “LUCASFILM STANDS WITH JOHN BOYEGA AND HIS MESSAGE THAT, “NOW IS THE TIME. BLACK LIVES HAVE ALWAYS MATTERED. BLACK LIVES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN IMPORTANT. BLACK LIVES HAVE ALWAYS MEANT SOMETHING. THE EVIL THAT IS RACISM MUST STOP. WE WILL COMMIT TO BEING PART OF THE CHANGE THAT IS LONG OVERDUE IN THE WORLD. JOHN BOYEGA, YOU ARE OUR HERO.”

Lucasfilm also shared John’s full speech via their verified Twitter account along with the caption: “We stand with and support you [John Boyega].”

Star Wars Director J.J. Abrams has also vowed to help the cause by donating $10 Million to various charities that fight to end racism. Abrams production company, Bad Robot, shared links to these charities, which will be receiving donations from the studio:

• Equal Justice Initiative
• Know Your Rights Camp

Cinemark Theaters Announces Face Masks Will NOT Be Required For Moviegoers. With movie theaters getting set to reopen soon, audiences are eagerly awaiting news on operations. Cinemark Theaters has recently announced that Cinemark Employees will be required to wear masks while working, but moviegoers will not be required to use masks while at the theater.

This makes complete sense. I mean, how else will we eat the overpriced popcorn, candy, and soda? He he he. All joking aside, other precautions are being taken to help keep audience members safe. With increased cleaning procedures, spaced out and reduced seating in the theaters, and Moviegoers will be allowed to choose if they would like to wear a mask when attending films at Cinemark Theaters.

Cinemark Theaters is also adding plexiglass screens to their ticket booths and concession stands to help fight the spread of illness.

CEO Mark Zoradi shared that Cinemark will begin to reopen select theaters on June 19th. The news, along with the list of precautions, was shared in a phone call on Wednesday with shareholders and staff. It is currently unknown which Cinemark Theaters will be reopening and which ones will remain closed, but likely this will be up to the reopening structure shared by local governments for each individual theater.

I think we can all agree Disney Popcorn is the absolute best! Now we can show off our love with the tasty snack, with a new Disney Popcorn Phone Case! We spotted this deliciously cute phone case at World of Disney, in Disney Springs! I instantly fell in love, because it’s not only super cute, but also really clever!

This is a clear case, with a screen print of the Main Street Popcorn label. Yup, it is just like the label you find on the prepackaged bags of popcorn. Inside the case are little “kernels” that look just like little kernels of popcorn! They even slide throughout the case as you shake or turn it!

The case also comes with a carrying strap! It is a beautiful bright red too, which accents the Mickey design on the case perfectly. The design might also look upside down when you hold it regularly, but it is made to look right side up when on the carrying strap. It is made for iPhones only though, and retails for $44.99.
