WDW Restricting use of Neck Gaiters

WDW Restricting use of Neck Gaiters neck gaiters

With Cast Member and Annual Passholder previews happening at Walt Disney World this week, we are learning how strict Disney is being regarding face coverings. Apparently neck gaiters do not meet Disney’s face covering requirement.

Twitter user Theme Park Shark is reporting that neck gaiters are not allowed in the Disney parks. Gaiters don’t have loops or ties which is a requirement according to Disney’s new health and safety regulations.

In order to visit Disney World, all guests ages 2 and up must wear a face covering.

The Disney World website states that all face coverings should:

  • Fully cover an individual’s nose and mouth and allow the Guest to remain hands-free
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Be secured with ties or ear loops
  • Be made of breathable material, either disposable or reusable

There’s no word if Disney will allow neck gaiters if they have ear holes. If you are planning on visiting the parks, wear a traditional face mask to be safe.

Disney Skyliner Reopening with Enhahanced Safety Precautions

Disney Skyliner Reopening with Enhahanced Safety Precautions disney skyliner

Beginning July 15, the Disney Skyliner will be operating once again at the Walt Disney World Resort. We now know more information on how social distancing will work on this transportation option.

Disney issued a press release that stated the following regarding resort transportation for the reopening:

“Transportation – Capacity and guest density is limited for complimentary Walt Disney World guest transportation, and guests are required to wear appropriate face coverings at all times during their journey. Buses and Monorails will implement a combination of physical distancing and physical barriers to provide separation between guest parties.

Party groups will be required to maintain physical distancing while aboard Disney watercraft. Disney Skyliner will load one party per gondola when it returns to operation July 15, 2020. For those arriving in their own vehicles, auto plazas will offer cashless payment; parking lot trams will not be available at this time.”

Before the COVID-19 closure, Skyliner parties were combined to maximize capacity aboard each gondola. Now each party will get its own, private cabin. Disney Skyliner hours will be 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM for EPCOT, and 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Have you been on the Skyliner before? How do you like this form of transportation?
