VP & Florida Governor discuss theme park opening this Wednesday

Florida Governor

Two months after the closure of Orlando theme parks, the state of Florida is currently making its way through the first phase of reopening businesses. The COVID-19 pandemic changed our daily lives and we’re slowly returning to normal activity while complying with CDC safety guidelines. Vice President Mike Pence is meeting with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to discuss the next stages of Florida’s economic reopening.

On Friday, Florida Governor DeSantis announced that theme parks could start submitting their reopening plans. So far Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando have not revealed any tentative plans yet. But we are getting one step closer to seeing them return! These theme park organizations are able to submit their plans this week, so government officials will be working closely on reviewing their plans. The Vice President and Florida Governor are joining a roundtable with tourism and hospitality leaders to plan the state’s future. In regards to the phases, caution is highly advised for decision-making to ensure proper safety protocols are in place.

The fact that these roundtable discussions are taking place is a good sign. It indicates that theme parks will open again soon, so we’ll be keeping our readers informed of any confirmed news updates.

Bill Farmer the Voice Actor of Goofy Answers is Goofy a Dog?

One of the biggest Disney questions ever asked must be is Disney’s Goofy a dog? This has been asked in films, between Cast Members and definitely between Cast Members and guests! Well now is the time to find out as Bill Farmer, the voice actor of Goofy, met with Yahoo! to discuss this long-standing debate!

Is Goofy a dog?

According to Bill Farmer, who has been the voice of Goofy since 1987, Goofy is definitely “not a dog”! Whilst Pluto is a dog, Goofy “seems to be in the canine family” but more distantly related like the wolf, according to Bill. He said more like “Canis Goofus”, which he coins is the “technical Latin term for what Goofy is”, in that “he is just Goofy!”.

Therefore, during this period of quietness caused by COVID-19, we have not only received an explanation but also an answer to the big debate about whether or not Goofy is a dog and how Goofy and Pluto can look so similar! Or why, in the Fab 5, (Mickey Mouse and Friends), why there are two characters which look like dogs, (Goofy and Pluto) and why only Pluto acts like a dog, whereas Goofy appears more humanlike! Well… it’s because Goofy is his own species… “Canis Goofus!”

However, whilst Bill Farmer is definitely a Goofy specialist, being the voice actor for Goofy for over 20 years, we have yet to hear from the Walt Disney Company to confirm this original species! What do you think? Is Goofy a dog?

Don’t forget to tune into Disney+ to watch Bill Farmer in his new documentary series, “It’s a Dog’s Life with Bill Farmer”. The 10-episode series, features Bill going cross country to get an inside look into the incredible and diverse set of jobs dogs are doing to aid humans!

R9-D9 Robot Vacuum R2 Unit is a must have!

R9-D9 Robot Vacuum

The vacuum force is strong with this unique droid! One clever individual, Michael Scott Hunter, devised a way to build his own R9-D9 Robot Vacuum at home.

Hunter got the idea while looking at a garbage can’s dome lid. What if he could design a vacuum that looked like a droid from the Star Wars universe? He labored on creating an efficient design to make his Artoo vacuum. You can see a video of the R9-D9 Robot Vacuum below.

Making the droid vacuum lightweight enough to resume normal activity and not wear out the battery life was one concern. Hunter used stiff poster board for the legs of the droid, plus lightweight accessories to add to the “tech” design of the dome garbage can. The entire droid vacuum weighs 14 pounds, which is great since it can still function properly for cleaning a home.

Hunter did add some cool bells and whistles to his droid. He added both an oscillating fan and Bluetooth speaker to the head of the Artoo droid. The fan allows the head to swivel and the speaker gives bonus audio effects to make his vacuum seem more like a real droid.

If you’re looking for vacuum options to clean your home, then make no mistake, this is the droid you’re looking for!
