Show creator, Lin Manuel-Miranda (Moana, Mary Poppins Returns) has confirmed Hamilton has been censored to make the movie version of the mega-popular broadway show “family friendly” and receive a PG-13 rating so it could appear on Disney+. Disney+ has a hard “no” on R-rated films and any titles that may have been in theaters with th Restricted rating has either been moved to Hulu or censored for the streaming service, such as The Simpson’s Movie.

Manuel-Miranda confirmed the news via Twitter with a post that reads, “LANGUAGE! 1. On July 3, you’re getting the whole show, every note & scene, & a 1-minute countdown clock during intermission (bathroom!) 2. But MPAA has a hard rule about language: more that 1 utterance of “Fck” is an automatic R rating. We have 3 “Fcks” in our show. So… 1/2″ then continued in a second tweet, “…I literally gave two fcks so the kids could see it: 1. In Yorktown, there’s a mute over ” I get the f___ back up again” 2. “Southern *record scratchkin’ Democratic Republicans.” You can sing whatEVER you like at home (even sync up the album)! Love you. Enjoy.”

Lin Manuel-Miranda also confirmed details on the films premiere on Disney+ and squashed rumors that the show would only be available for one night, stating, “1. I know this now! It’s midnight July 3 PST, so that’s 3am for us in NY and east coast, do the math til your time zone. 2. Not just one day. 3. You will just have it. For as many times as you like, right next to A Goofy Movie and Talespin and An Extremely Goofy Movie… ❤️”

Lin Manuel-Miranda Confirms He Is Working on a New Animated Disney Movie with ‘Zootopia’ Directors

Lin Manuel-Miranda Confirms He Is Working on a New Animated Disney Movie with ‘Zootopia’ Directors

Lin Manuel-Miranda Confirms He Is Working on a New Animated Disney Movie with ‘Zootopia’ Directors. First reported by The DisInsider, a now confirmed new project is underway at Walt Disney Studios and filmmakers from films such as Zootopia, Moana, Ralph Breaks the Internet and more are working together to make some Disney magic on screen.  The working project is currently being called ‘Encanto‘, which translates to Charm in English.

Previously it was believed the film would take place in Brazil, but in an interview with Good Morning America Lin Manuel-Miranda confirmed the film will actually take place in the neighboring country of Columbia. A tentative outline for the film follows a young girl and her family who live in Columbia. While her family members all have magical powers the young girl possesses no powers of her own.

Currently working on ‘Encanto‘ is composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (Mary Poppins Returns, Moana, Hamilton), with Clark Spencer (Ralph Breaks the Internet) and Yvett Merino Flores (Moana) who are producers for the project. Directors Byron Howard and Jared Bush (Zootopia) will work on the screenplay with Charise Castro Smith (The Haunting of House Hill).

When asked about the projects he is currently working on, Miranda shared, “I’m actually writing a new animated musical with Disney Animation. I’m collaborating with the Zootopia guys and Jared Bush, who wrote Moana with me. It’s set in Colombia, in Latin America and that’s all I can say before Bob Iger just shows up in my home.”

Manuel-Miranda also spoke about the highly anticipated premiere of Hamilton which will begin streaming on Disney+ July 3rd. Towards the end of the interview Lin also shared the news about the new animated feature film. You can watch the interview shared by Lin Manuel-Miranda in the Twitter post below:

One of the restaurants that is getting modifications is “Be Our Guest” at Magic Kingdom. The first one is getting rid of the breakfast option that many people loved to enjoy before starting their day at the park.

The lunch option also had some changes, it went from quick-service to table-service with an updated menu and price.

The Cinderella Carriage design has gotten a redesign! It has the same whimsical style as the original, but this one features her in her wedding gown! The colors are also the same as the wedding coach Cinderella and Prince Charming ride in but still has the pumpkin carriage design. The carrying strap is also pink, with swirls of “pixie dust”.
