Aerial view of McDonald’s near Disney’s All-Star Resort

Aerial view of McDonald’s near Disney’s All-Star Resort Aerial

Today, we’re presenting an aerial photo of the newly remodeled McDonald’s on Walt Disney World property. We’re impressed by its appearance because it looks to be nearing completion! We recently took a drive near the fast-food restaurant, which is located between Disney’s All-Star Resort and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The construction continued at this location while Walt Disney World Resort was temporarily closed.

Here you can see the Twitter post of the aerial view.

As you can see, the McDonald’s restaurant is receiving a massive renovation, updating the design and overall feel of the restaurant. There are loads of solar panels on the roof, out front, and some greenery going up the building. It also appears to be much larger, which will definitely help considering its popularity and convenient location. We will check back with this McDonald’s once the place opens to the public.

There’s no announced opening date, but it would be amazing if this location was ready for guests to be welcomed back when the resorts reopen in July. It may be a while until you can enjoy your favourite McDonald’s meal, but we are looking forward to seeing the inside of this massive restaurant later!

Disneyland Begins Calling in Cast Members for Reopening

Disneyland Begins Calling in Cast Members for Reopening

The Disneyland Resort has been closed for a few months now due to COVID-19. With plans to begin reopening next month, Disneyland is calling Cast Members back to work.

According to Workers United Local 50, which represents 7,850 food and beverage workers at the Disneyland resort, Disneyland was expected to start contacting approximately 775 cast members over the past weekend who will begin returning to work on June 28. These Cast Members will begin preparing Disney’s Anaheim theme parks for reopening on July 17.

Union president Chris Duarte wrote in a Facebook post that he was “shocked” Disneyland was recalling cast members for essential positions. “The lack of warning to us and you is unfortunate,” Duarte said on Facebook. “If you are a trainer, lead, production scheduler, receiver, chef or area chef start preparing for the company to contact you as early as the weekend.”

The Downtown Disney District is scheduled to reopen beginning July 9 with the Disneyland Resort theme parks to follow (pending government approval) on July 17. Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will reopen July 23 with the Disneyland Hotel reopening on a later date.

A coalition of unions is trying to delay the reopening of the Disneyland Resort. In spite of Disney’s planned health and safety protocols and measures, the unions are still concerned for Cast Members’ safety.

“On the recall negotiations we are still not in agreement with Disney,” Duarte said on Facebook. “On the health and safety portion of the negotiations, we are in disagreement with the company on a number of items.”

The new Disneyland COVID-19 health and safety protocols for visitors include:

  • Reduced capacity in the parks
  • Required face coverings for visitors 2 years old and older
  • Temperature checks for visitors prior to entering the parks
  • Physical distancing throughout the parks
  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting, especially in high-traffic areas
  • Additional handwashing and hand sanitizer locations
  • Contactless payments at shops and restaurants

Health and safety guidelines for Disney employees will include:

  • Required face coverings and temperature checks
  • Adjusting work practices to promote physical distancing
  • Increased cleaning in work areas
  • Encouraged to stay home when ill

There’s been no word from Disneyland on if they will delay the resort’s reopening.
