Know Before You Go to the Downtown Disney District Reopening

Know Before You Go to the Downtown Disney District Reopening downtown disney district

We previously reported that Disney announced plans to begin reopening the Disneyland Resort. Today we have more information on the phased reopening of the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland.

The Downtown Disney District will begin its phased reopening on July 9th. Disney is pleased to welcome back a variety of shopping and dining experiences during this initial phase, including the flagship World of Disney store. The shopping district will be open from 10 am to 8 pm daily, however, individual location hours may vary.

During the initial reopening phase, there will be capacity measures in place, as well as limitations on parking and operating hours. Guests will be directed to self-park at Simba lot (at Disneyland Drive and Katella Ave).

Guests will go through a temperature screening upon arrival and will be required to wear face coverings. All Cast Members and operating participant employees will also be required to wear face coverings. There will also be ground markings and physical barriers in some places to help promote physical distancing.

Walt Disney World employees start petition to delay reopening

Walt Disney World employees start petition to delay reopening Disney World employees

In the past week, Florida residents witnessed a record-number of COVID-19 infections that pushed the statewide total past 100,000. Now some Disney World employees are pushing for a petition to delay the reopening of the Florida-based Disney Parks. Even though reopening would bring back thousands of furloughed Disney employees, there’s a number of them who feel worried it’s too soon to welcome back guests.

The petition began on Sunday, June 21st and has accumulated nearly 4,000 signatures so far. The online petition includes the following text:

“This virus is not gone, unfortunately, it’s only become worse in this state. While theme parks are a great way to relax and enjoy free time, it is a non-essential business; it is not fair to the people who work there to risk their lives, especially if they are at risk or have family members who are at risk. People are more important than making a profit. Mayors, theme park executives, government officials — please hear what we are saying.”

Only certain parties knew about the petition. Neither the Disney union leaders or governor’s office knew in advance about this petition. For instance, Eric Clinton, president of the Unite Here Local 362 union for Walt Disney World employees, said he was not aware of the effort. He said that most of the workers he has talked with are “pretty excited” about returning to work. Then a DeSantis spokeswoman said the Florida governor had not seen the petition, but said “every measure is being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of Florida residents and visitors as the state continues to reopen.”

Mark Hamill Confirms He Had Cameos In ‘The Mandalorian’ and Every Star Wars Movie Excluding the Prequels

Mark Hamill Confirms He Had Cameos In ‘The Mandalorian’ and Every Star Wars Movie Excluding the Prequels

Mark Hamill Confirms He Had Cameos In ‘The Mandalorian’ and Every Star Wars Movie Excluding the Prequels. Star Wars fans are having their minds blown up like Alderaan after it was revealed that Mark Hamill has played several characters in the Star Wars franchise other than Luke Skywalker.

Mark has had a wildly successful career as both a live-action actor and voice actor on an impressive amount of titles including films, television and video games, but most fans knew him first as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise. Though the news isn’t really “new,” Hamill drew attention to his cameos after it was shared that he voiced a character in The Mandalorian and went nearly 7-months before anyone outside of production found out!

Mark confirmed the news via Twitter as well as sharing one of his pseudonyms when recording smaller voice acting roles named “Patrick Williams”, sharing: “Now that [The Mandalorian] secret is out-might as well reveal I am vocally represented in ALL SW films except the Prequels. Thanks to [Matthew Wood] for using me in Rogue One, Solo & the Sequels, so I DO have lines in [Episode VII]. Hint: Look for parts played by Patrick Williams. [True Story]”

Some of Mark Hamill‘s known Star Wars cameos include:

  • Darth Bane in Star Wars: The Clone Wars
  • Dabofkya, the drunk alien in The Last Jedi that deposits gold coins into BB-8 at the Casino
  • Boolio, the Ovissian resistance spy seen at the beginning of The Rise of Skywalker
  • EV-9D9 bartending droid in The Mandalorian Season 1

Mark claims he also appeared in other voice acting roles in other Star Wars titles such as Solo: A Star Wars Story, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and all three Star Wars Sequels.

Did you know Mark played other characters besides Luke in the Star Wars franchise? What other roles do you think Hamill secretly played in the Star Wars films? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
