260 workers at the Orlando International Airport have tested positive for the coronavirus

260 workers at the Orlando International Airport have tested positive for the coronavirus Orlando International Airport

There is some recent concern regarding the actual number of reported COVID-19 cases. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated 260 workers at the Orlando International Airport have tested positive for the coronavirus after nearly 500 employees were tested. However, the airport management issues a statement on Twitter to clarify the number of workers affected by COVID-19.

The Florida Department of Health provided a further explanation for the numbers Wednesday afternoon.

“The number of cases at Orlando International Airport is cumulative from March 2020 and includes household close contacts as determined through the extensive epidemiological investigations conducted by the Department of Health.

“These cases were all identified from and associated with positive COVID-19 cases linked to the airport. Through collaboration with airport and local authorities and thorough efforts in contact tracing, all the cases were linked and notified.

“Last week, the Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) conducted 500 tests. Only two came back positive and held no risk of exposure to others. DOH-Orange has been active in monitoring and investigating every case at the airport and will continue to ensure the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance and protocols are followed closely,” the statement read.

The governor’s office has also since walked back on the claims.

“Governor DeSantis has emphasized the benefit of testing for COVID-19 and contact tracing throughout the state. MCO had 132 employees test positive for COVID-19. Through contact tracing of those employees, an additional 128 individuals not associated with the airport tested positive for COVID-19 resulting in 260 total positive cases. We appreciate MCO’s commitment to working with the Orange County Health Department, the Florida Department of Health and for ensuring best practices are followed for the health and safety of all employees and visitors to the airport,” communications director Helen Ferre said Wednesday afternoon.

We will provide updates on Orlando International Airport when new information becomes available. In the meantime, the Florida Department of Health recommends all residents and visitors to adhere to health and safety protocols to ensure people’s well-being.

Disney May Show Early Screening of Marvel Studios’ Black Widow to NBA Players and Their Families

Disney May Show Early Screening of Marvel Studios’ Black Widow to NBA Players and Their Families

Disney May Show Early Screening of Marvel Studios’ Black Widow to NBA Players and Their Families. It appears Disney will be bringing plenty of activities for NBA players and their families to enjoy during their prolonged stay at Walt Disney World Resort for the 2020 NBA Season.

Reportedly, the teams will be staying at three different resorts at Walt Disney World Resort: The Grand Floridian, Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The new season will feature 8 games before the top 16 teams will participate in the playoffs until the 2020 Championship Game. The entire season will be played and filmed at the ESPN World Wide Sports in Walt Disney World Resort.

The players and their families will be kept in restricted areas of the resorts and parks that will be off limits to other guests and fans during their visit. The games will be played to audiences of staff members and the players families. No other fans will be permitted in the Sports Complex. It is also expected that private buses will be used to transport players, their families, and staff around Walt Disney World Resort during their stay.

The news for planned entertainment was shared with NBA and Disney insider Keith Smith via Twitter in a post that reads, “Per Walt Disney World Sources: Disney will make movies available for players and their families (once they join). This is likely to include movies that have not been released to the general public, including Marvel’s Black Widow.”

Though this is far from a confirmation by Disney or Marvel Studios, Black Widow was intended to release May 1st and is ready for theatrical release on November 6, 2020, but many fans are concerned that players, their spouses, and children will share spoiler for the film online, ruining the surprise in theaters for Marvel fans possibly 2-3 months before the films premiere.

As we know, Disney tends to adapt fairly well to change so if they deem it too risky to play the film early for such a broad audience they may abandon the idea, but it also makes sense that Disney would want to help the NBA incentives players to return for the shortened 2020 basketball season hosted in Walt Disney World.

“I am grateful for the support of the incredible Hong Kong community, commitment of medical staff and dedication of our cast members who managed through this challenging time,” Young said. “The health and safety of our guests and cast members continue to be at the forefront of our minds, and our cast members have been working tirelessly to put all the necessary measures in place for guests to enjoy a magical visit.”

The reopening of Hong Kong Disneyland demonstrates a deliberate approach with new and enhanced health and safety measures, reflecting the guidance of health and government authorities. The park has instituted new measures and procedures, such as operating with limited attendance and required advance reservations, accommodating social distancing in queues, restaurants, attraction vehicles and other facilities throughout the park, and implementing increased frequency of cleaning and sanitization.

“The construction continues as the Castle of Magical Dreams, scheduled to launch in late 2020, enters its final stage of transformation. The Castle will stand as a shining beacon of courage, hope, and possibility, which we will forever hold dear to our heart,” added Young.

Disney magic can be found all around the park with attractions and shows open to guests once again.
