Updated Star Wars Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue info

Updated Star Wars Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue info rise of the resistance

Disney Hollywood Studios reopens next week on July 15. A few months before the Disney World parks closed, the newest Star Wars attraction, Rise of the Resistance, opened. Guests wishing to experience this ride needed to reserve a spot in the virtual queue.

For guests with upcoming Disney Park Pass reservations to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we have an update about Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, which will once again be using virtual queue in the My Disney Experience app. The most important update is that – as availability allows – guests will have an opportunity at 10 am, 1 pm, and 4 pm to request to join the virtual queue.

There are a few important details to know before arriving:

  • First, make sure to download the My Disney Experience app. Once you enter the park, you’ll need to log in to your account at one of the distribution times (10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m.).
  • Once logged in, select “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue” on the home screen. This is where guests will be able to view the current status and next steps for joining the virtual queue.
  • The app will indicate when there is no availability for a specific distribution time.
  • As long as a guest’s My Disney Experience account is linked to park tickets for themselves and the others in their group, a guest can enroll their entire party in the virtual queue at the same time. In order to give as many guests as possible the opportunity to join the Resistance, each guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day.
  • Guests should make sure push notifications are turned on for My Disney Experience so they will be alerted if their group is called to return. Guests will have up to an hour from the time of the alert to go to the entrance of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
  • Please note that joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

If you have any questions or need assistance with joining the virtual queue, Cast Members at Guest Experience Team locations throughout the park are available to assist. While waiting for a virtual queue group to be called, guests can enjoy other experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios including our newest addition, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Changes Come to Haunted Mansion Stretching Room in the Magic Kingdom haunted mansion

Disney’s Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort is reopening to all guests tomorrow, July 11. One classic ride in the park has a big change to its experience. The Haunted Mansion stretching room is no more!

Changes were to be expected due to new health and safety measures implemented in the park. These changes begin as soon as you enter the queue for Haunted Mansion.

There are markers on the ground to help guests stay physically distanced from others.

Once you enter the attraction, the stretching room is no longer an interactive experience. Instead of being asked to step into the “dead center of the room”, guests are ushered into a moving queue through the stretch room.

The room no longer stretches but guests can still get a look at the portraits in the room as they walk through.

The rest of the attraction is basically the same, with guests enjoying their visit with the grim grinning ghosts of the Haunted Mansion.

What do you think about the change to this classic attraction?

Get an Insider Look at the Making of ‘Hamilton’ with New Disney+ Special

Get an Insider Look at the Making of ‘Hamilton‘ with New Disney+ Special. One week after premiering “Hamilton,” the filmed version of the original Broadway production, Disney+ will release a new special conversation “Hamilton: History Has Its Eyes on You,” exclusively on Friday, July 10.

Hosted by ABC News’ “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts, “Hamilton: History Has Its Eyes On You” is an  intimate discussion about the groundbreaking film that has become a global phenomenon and features “Hamilton”’s creator, its director and cast members of the original Broadway production.  A Harvard Historian also shares insight on the historical relevance and accuracy of the production.  Earlier today, Roberts shared a first look with “Good Morning America” viewers. “It was an immense pleasure speaking with this talented group,” said Roberts. “After you listen to their insights and perspectives it will heighten your viewing of Hamilton. Such an engaging, enlightening conversation.”

Hamilton: History Has Its Eyes On You” features creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, cast members from the original Broadway production; Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Leslie Odom Jr.(Aaron Burr), Phillipa Soo (Eliza Hamilton), Renée Elise Goldsberry, (Angelica Schuyler), Daveed Diggs (Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson) and Harvard historian and Professor Annette Gordon-Reed. Okieriete Onaodowan (Hercules Mulligan and James Madison) appears in the tape piece at the top of the show.

This special encompasses topics that range from questions about the show’s creation and creative process to its remarkable relevance and today’s current social and political realities.  As America tries to undergo a right-now revolution in racial awareness, can parallels with “Hamilton’s” take on the 1776 American Revolution guide its audience’s thoughts and feelings? Is “Hamilton” true to history, and what can we learn from what really happened more than 250 years ago as our nation began to search for the meaning of freedom?

Hamilton: History Has Its Eyes On You” is produced by Rock ‘n Robin Productions and ABC News for Disney+. Robin Roberts and John R. Green are the executive producers. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Disney+!
