Stormalong Bay Closed but Beach Club Guests will have Access to Disney’s BoardWalk Pool

When select Walt Disney World Resort hotels reopen later this month, not all amenities will be available to guests.

Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will not be available during the initial reopening period. Guests of Disney’s Beach Club Villas may use the resort leisure pool, and may also use the Luna Park Pool and leisure pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas.

Stormalong Bay features three lagoon areas — including one specifically designed for younger water-lovers, with a depth of 2 to 3 feet.

A spiral stair on board the life-sized shipwreck ascends to a 150-foot mast, broken and askew to serve as a flume plummeting toward a rocky outcropping where another 150 feet of spins complete a fast-moving thrill slide.

If you’ll be staying at Disney’s Beach or Yacht Clubs and you’d like to have some pool time, you can check out the pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas.

Is Disneyland Opening This July?

Disneyland

The Disneyland Resort remains closed due to COVID-19 but there was recently a change to the resort website that might give us a glimpse at when the parks could reopen.

Disney has not made an official announcement or even submitted reopening plans, however, tickets are now available to purchase online for dates starting July 16, 2020!

July 17 is Disneyland’s 65th anniversary so it would be great timing if the parks reopened on the 16th. The website also states that reservations are available beginning July 15th.

Keep in mind this is pure speculation and we will continue to update our readers as information is released.

Virgin Atlantic to Resume Flights to Orlando

virgin atlantic

Virgin Atlantic, a UK-based airline, will resume flights to Orlando International Airport on July 20, 2020. Virgin Atlantic is the main carrier from the UK to Orlando. Prior to COVID-19, the airline operated multiple direct flights per day to Orlando from both London and Manchester.

The airline will now fly its London routes from Heathrow as it has permanently discontinued its London Gatwick operations. Along with returning to Orlando, the airline will also resume flights to Hong Kong, Shanghai, New York JFK, and Los Angeles. The airline will also be implementing new health and safety measures.

These new health and safety measures include:

  • Health questionnaires before check-in
  • Electrostatic spraying of high-grade disinfectant onboard in all cabins and lavatories
  • Supply of a personal Health Pack which will contain medical-grade face masks as a requirement to be worn onboard, surface wipes and hand gel
  • A simplified hot food service onboard to minimize contact

While the airline will be resuming flights, it’s unknown when non-US citizens will be allowed back into the US. Travel restrictions are still in place and non-essential international travel is advised against.

Starbucks Focuses on Love with New Cup and Drink

Confetti cup starbucks disney springs

Starbucks at Disney Springs Marketplace Starbucks always has fun drinks and today there was a festive cup too!

Their new drink recipe is called “Love is Love.”  The recipe mixes Starbucks’ Violet Drink with strawberries, strawberry puree, and strawberry sweet cold foam.  Another fruity and delicious drink that is not made with the Frappucino base.

Another fun surprise were these color-changing confetti cups!  These reusable cold cups have what seem to be white confetti on them.  But as a cold drink is poured into the cup the confetti changes to multiple colors.  Such a lively transformation!

The “Love is Love” drink is served at the Starbucks on Disney Spring property closest to the World of Disney store.  You can ask any Starbucks to make this recipe if you would like to try it at your hometown store.

The color-changing cups have been best sellers so if you are interested in one make sure to check on your next visit!  Love the new cups and drink, Starbucks!

Disney Springs Extends Hours as Orlando Citywide Curfew is lifted

Disney Springs has just extended its hours back to 10 pm as the Orlando Citywide curfew has been lifted!

Disney Springs Curfew

At the end of last month, Disney Springs dropped their park hours back to 7 pm to allow guests and cast members to get home before the 10 pm curfew.

The curfew notice has been removed from their website as of today so guests are able to spend a few more hours at Disney Springs!

Although Disney Springs will be operating until 10pm, some hours may vary by location.
