Disney World has reopened, but there are still some changes to be made to some of the new systems.

Annual Passholders have been on a bit of a rollercoaster this year when it comes to getting their money’s worth. Many folks have had their passes extended for the length of the closure — but that’s not the end of things. With the introduction of the Disney Park Pass reservation system to limit capacity, Passholders aren’t necessarily guaranteed entry into the parks.

To help mitigate Passholder concerns, Disney recently announced an added 30-day extension on top of the closure extension to make up for the capacity limits. Now, we know that those extensions are coming soon — and Passholders have another option.

In an email to Passholders today, Disney spoke about that way that “Park reservations will change the way that many of our Passholders use their pass.” The resultant 30-day extension to make up for this will be automatically processed and visible in eligible Passholders’ My Disney Experience Accounts over the coming weeks. So, keep an eye on your expiration date!

If you would rather NOT take the extension, you are welcome to cancel your pass and instead receive an applicable refund instead of the additional month. To do so, or if you have any other concerns, call V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at (407) 939-7277. Keep in mind, lines may be busy so be patient and keep trying as needed.

Disney just revealed a sneak peek at an exclusive pin collection for its D23 Gold and Gold Family Members — and it will transport you to a world of fantasy and fun!

If you haven’t joined D23—The Official Disney Fan Club, then now might be a great time so you can take advantage of this limited-time offer.

The new D23 Fantastic Worlds Pin Set features four pins “depicting favorite Disney destinations” including Cherry Tree Lane from Mary Poppins, Kuzcotopia from The Emperor’s New Groove, Monstropolis from Monsters, Inc., and Zootopia.

The D23 Fantastic Worlds Pin Set costs $39.99 and is limited to two per guest, according to shopDisney.com.

Here’s a closer look at all four pins in the collection. Artwork for the pin set is “inspired by vintage travel logos” designed by artist Alex Riegert-Waters. Each one is a colorful snapshot of the memorable movie locations.

We love the look of these new pins that have the touch of old-fashioned style. You can’t find these pins at any of the theme parks or Disney Springs!

Disneyland Resort has been closed since March with no established reopening date.

Annual Passholders were granted an initial extension when the park first closed. Passholders who paid in full automatically had their expiration date extended for the number of days the parks will be closed or have the option to receive a partial refund. Monthly payments were paused for Passholders who were on the monthly payment program. Disneyland has now issued another statement regarding pass extensions.

A statement was sent to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Annual Passholders. Disney World Passholders will receive a 30-day extension to their pass. As for Disneyland Passholders, the extension “will be applied to your pass 6–8 weeks after Disneyland Resort Theme Parks reopen.”

The statement also noted that Disneyland will have park reservation rules and limited availability for its theme parks. Information about the new Disneyland reservation system will be revealed at a later date.

Passholders have the option to cancel their passes and receive any applicable refunds in lieu of the additional month. To cancel, call Passholder support at 407-939-7277 before August 11th, 2020. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more about the extension and the new reservation system.

Two of Disney World’s theme parks have already reopened to the general public while the remaining two are set to open tomorrow.

All guests who visit must have valid theme park admission and a reservation to visit Disney World during its reopening phase. And availability for Annual Passholders has been pretty slim. Now, Disney has shared that they will be increasing availability for Annual Passholders. 

When the new Disney Park Pass reservation system first launched, Annual Passholder spots went quickly. As you can see from this current screenshot of Disney World’s theme park availability calendar, all of the Disney Park Pass reservations for Annual Passholders have already been taken for the month of July.

A significant number of dates have also filled up in August for APs, especially on the weekends. During the week, many spots for Disney’s Hollywood Studios have been taken as well as Magic Kingdom.

But according to an email that was just sent to us by Disney, additional Disney Park Pass reservations will be offered to Annual Passholders for select dates in July and August at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

No word on Disney’s Hollywood Studios reservations being added at this time. Disney will be adding the new passes on Thursday, July 16th. 

Disney also states this increase Disney Park Pass reservation availability does not reflect an increase in park attendance or crowd levels. Capacity is still being limited during Disney World’s initial reopening phase.

We don’t know what time these select dates for July and August will be added to the Disney Park Pass reservation system, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we spot them!

A long time ago (May 21, 1980) in a galaxy far, far away… Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back made its debut.

And now a new line of merchandise in Disney Springs is available to commemorate the film’s 40th Anniversary! You can find a selection of t-shirts at World of Disney (and we even spotted a couple of these online at shopDisney, too).

A Women’s 40th Anniversary shirt ($39.99) in gray is finished with shining, glittery studs.

And adults can also choose the metallic logo 40th Anniversary t-shirt ($34.99).

This one’s available on shopDisney, too!

So far, we’ve only seen the next few shirts at World of Disney, including this retro logo style for $29.99.

And speaking of retro, you can find vintage poster art featured on the shirts below ($24.99 and $34.99, pictured in price order).

But I think my favorite is the Action Figures & Adventure Sets t-shirt ($24.99)!
