‘Here Lies’ a Ghostly Glimpse of the Haunted Mansion Pet Cemetery at Walt Disney World Resort

While grim and grinning ghosts socialize inside the Haunted Mansion, there’s a small but ominously odd plot of land outside that leaves its own mark on mortals who venture by this time of year!

‘Here Lies’ a Ghostly Glimpse of the Haunted Mansion Pet Cemetery at Walt Disney World Resort

The pet cemetery, located on a haunting hillside outside the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World Resort, is a gothic garden for dearly departed animals, including a beloved snake, a cat with nine lives and others.

This eerily enchanting gravesite was inspired by the popular pet cemetery at Disneyland Resort – originally created by Walt Disney Imagineering in the 1980s. And similar to the original, the Walt Disney World Resort pet cemetery includes headstones with witty epitaphs.

So, with Halloween just days away, we’re sharing a ghostly glimpse at the epitaphs and the animal-shaped headstones that seem to come alive as shadows creep across this patch of lawn.

#DisneyMagicMoments: Hear from Musician Jon Batiste and Watch the New Trailer from Disney and Pixar’s ‘Soul,’ coming to Disney+ December 25

Disney and Pixar’s “Soul,” the new animated film streaming only on Disney+ this Christmas, is a warm, heartfelt and funny story that tackles the big questions of life like, “What is it that makes you…YOU?” It introduces Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher who gets the chance of a lifetime to play at the best jazz club in town. But one small misstep takes him from the streets of New York City to The Great Before – a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks and interests before they go to Earth. Determined to return to his life, Joe teams up with a precocious soul, 22, who has never understood the appeal of the human experience. As Joe desperately tries to show 22 what’s great about living, he may just discover the answers to some of life’s most important questions.

Disney and Pixar gave an insider’s look at the film during the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) virtual convention. A conversation with the film’s creators was among the many highlights Disney brought to the event. Walt Disney World Resort has a long history with NABJ and NAHJ and was once again a Double Platinum sponsor of the convention.

Now we’re bringing a #DisneyMagicMoment from the convention to you!

To set the stage, Jon Batiste, an American pianist, band leader and jazz extraordinaire who provided the original jazz compositions and arrangements for the film, provided a very special first public performance of a song he wrote for the soundtrack, “Born to Play.” We have that first performance to share with you today along with the newest trailer. Take a look.

Looks amazing right? As we wait for Disney and Pixar’s “Soul,” streaming December 25 only on Disney+, keep checking back with us here for more #DisneyMagicMoments like this one!

#DisneyMagicMoments: Check Out a Ghoulishly Grand Gathering of Costumed Friends from Around the World

With just a few sunsets until Halloween, we’re ushering in the night with a cauldron of costumed friends stepping out in their “haunt-couture” at Disney destinations around the world!

Whether it’s Mickey Mouse in a cape reminiscent of winged creatures found in the belfries of the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World Resort or Donald Duck in a “gourd-geous” pumpkin-inspired costume at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa – Disney’s costumed friends are dreadfully delightful this time of year.

Tonight, our friends from across the globe have unearthed some not-so-frightful styles of the season to end your day.  Take a look at some Monday night “Costumed” magic:

Our look at costumed friends begins at the Walt Disney World Resort where Mickey Mouse and friends – and some favorite villains – are glowing and ghastly for Halloween.

Donald Duck wears a jack o lantern costume at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa

At Aulani – a Disney Resort & Spa, everyone’s #1 feathered friend, Donald Duck, waddled his way into hearts dressed as an unforgettable jack o’ lantern.

For any “poor unfortunate souls” who didn’t know, Ursula and other Disney Villains can be seen lurking at Disneyland Paris this time of year – offering a screamingly good time!

Also at Disneyland Paris, Minnie Mouse was photographed in her most-colorful autumn attire!

Mickey Mouse and an eerily awesome Goofy dressed as a mummy were captured during an enchanting night aboard a Disney Cruise ship.

And a variety of spooky scallywags, rebellious rapscallions and bewitching buccaneers scare in style at Shanghai Disneyland Resort.

We hope you enjoyed this special series of costumed friends to end your day.  Be sure to check back for more Disney Halloween surprises by visiting our new “Everything Halloween” page.
