Pixar Pier is officially open at Disney California Adventure Park! My little ones and I had so much fun this past opening week exploring the newly reimagined area—inspired by the stories and films we love so much.
One of my favorite things about Pixar Pier is how much there is for families with young children. My kiddos are between the ages of three months and 6 years old, and we found plenty of things we could all enjoy together—which isn’t always an easy feat! Read on to find all of my picks for a magical day at the Pier.
The Incredicoaster is an exciting Incredibles 2-themed rollercoaster. And it’s such a blast! If you or your kiddos are thrill-seekers, this is definitely a must-do. We loved how the attraction has a storyline—something you don’t find on many rollercoasters! I would highly recommend a nighttime ride if you get the chance—the cool lights make it extra magical. Little ones need to be 48 inches or over to ride, and be sure to get a FastPass/MaxPass as this is one popular ride.
For a ride fit for everyone in your family, check out Toy Story Midway Mania! This is a 3D, carnival-style attraction with no height requirement—so even babies can ride, which makes this a family favorite. It’s really fun to test your aim and get a little competitive for the best score! FastPass/MaxPass is also available.
The third attraction that is currently open is the Pixar Pal-A-Round. This big ferris wheel overlooks the Park, and is also another great option for all family members—babies included. A fun addition are the gondolas featuring different Pixar characters. We prefer the stationary ones, but if you’re in for a little bit of a thrill, you might want to try the swinging gondolas. But our favorite part is definitely the beautiful view from the top—it can’t be beat! Plus, it’s also a really great way to rest your feet since the trip around the wheel takes about 15 minutes.
We can’t wait to come back to ride these again, and the new attractions coming 2019—including Jessie’s Critter Carousel and the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.
Eats
Food is an important and exciting part of any day at the Park—and Pixar Pier is no exception! A treat is always a must for us, so I recommend grabbing a unique Caliente Churro (a little too spicy for the kids, but great for Mom!) or Cinnamon Super Galaxy Churro at the cart Señor Buzz Churros.
If your little one is a chocolate chip cookie fanatic just like baby Jack-Jack from Incredibles 2, then head to Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums for a warm chocolate chip cookie (aka a Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num), a gluten-free, blackberry jam-filled cookie called The IncrediCookie, or a Jack-Jack Shortbread Cookie. Obviously, we had to try all three and they did not disappoint. The best part is, you can choose from a variety of milk options (including dairy-free) to pair with your cookie treat…yum!
If you’re in need of a frozen treat on a warm summer day, Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats is the place to go. Our favorite is the It’s Snow Capped Lemon—featuring lemon soft serve “snow-capped” with white chocolate. This place is kiddo approved!
When meal time comes around, Pixar Pier has got you covered! Stop by Angry Dogs for hot dogs and chips, Poultry Palace for delicious chicken drumsticks (these were our favorite!), or Lamplight Lounge where you’ll find an array of unique eats, including a kids menu with things like the PB and J Roll—a peanut butter and jelly sandwich rolled up and sliced to look like a sushi roll!
Opening later this summer is Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff where guests will find treats and merchandise. I know my kids are especially going to love it.
Games
If you’re like us and enjoy taking breaks from attractions during the day, I suggest checking out the Games of Pixar Pier. Purchase a game card for a minimum of $4, then choose from four games, including La Luna Star Catcher, WALL-E Space Race, Heimlich’s Candy Corn Toss, and Bullseye Stallion Stampede. La Luna Star Catcher is great because everyone is always a winner—no matter what, guests will always walk away with a prize! They vary depending on what game you choose, but for as low as $4, it’s really a great deal.
After some games, have the little ones play by the Luxo ball water fountain right in front—mine had fun cooling off on the hot summer day!
Characters
Don’t forget to download the official Disneyland Resort app to find the locations of various Pixar Pals, available for photo opps and autographs around Pixar Pier!
Visiting with their favorite Pixar characters is always a highlight for my kids.
Entertainment
A Disney day wouldn’t be complete without some entertainment! We really enjoyed listening to The Pixarmonic Orchestra—a super fun, seven-piece band that performs in the Pixar Promenade a few times daily. Check the Disneyland app for showtimes.
For another fun activity, the new Pixar character face paint options are absolutely adorable. Kiosks can be found near Knick’s Knacks, and they offer free touchups throughout the day.
And last, but certainly not least, be sure to capture some cute photo opps by colorful Pixar walls—as a keepsake until next time.

If you’re adding to your Disney family, let friends and family know with a magical twist. Here are some fun ideas for a unique Disney-inspired pregnancy announcement!
We’re All Ears
Add another set of Mickey Mouse ears to your family collection. If you already know your baby’s name, have it embroidered. Otherwise, share your due date on the back of the Mickey ears for a keepsake to cherish.
Start Building Your Baby’s Wardrobe
To prepare for your baby’s arrival, shop for their first outfit and share a photo. Like Sleeping Beauty’s fairies, you can write “make it pink!” or “make it blue!”
“1st Visit” Button
Park guests can pick up a free button for birthdays or other celebrations at City Hall. Request one that reads “1st Visit” and pin it by your growing belly.
Elicit Help from Disney Cast Members
Take advantage of PhotoPass photographers at the Parks to get a cute photo of you and your significant other in front of the castle or another picturesque location. If you’re making a themed nursery, seek out your matching Disney character for a photo op. The pregnancy announcement photos will make a great addition to the baby’s room.
Baby’s 1st Shoes
I love pregnancy announcements with shoes for each family member lined up. For a Disney spin, add a pair inspired by Cinderella’s glass slippers or Woody’s cowboy boots for your little one on the way.

Mr. Incredible and Jack-Jack will save the day with this heroic balloon. At six feet tall, it creates the perfect backdrop for your crafts, recipes, and family photos.
Our families love The Incredibles and have been waiting YEARS for the latest film—featuring the relatable Parr family. So, you can imagine that the release of Disney•Pixar’s Incredibles 2 is a major cause for celebration! We’re gathering our family to host a fun-filled Incredibles 2 party filled with all of our favorite Supers.
From festive treats to easy-to-make DIYs, we have everything you and your guests need for a fun-filled affair.
Party Decor
First things first—to create an epic party worthy of all your kiddo’s guests, head to a party store for decor in the film’s classic colors. Think: red, yellow, orange, and black. This will be a great way to set the scene for your celebration! Stop by your local Party City for this cute Incredibles 2 decor.
Next, sprinkle in some neutral pieces from your home or do some thrifting for Mid-Century Modern styles—similar to the ones seen in the Parr family’s home.
Then, start on some incredible crafts and recipes.
Incredibles 2 Lemonade
Your family and friends will love sipping on these Incredible-themed drinks! Not only are these frosty lemonades refreshing on a warm day, but they also feature the new film’s logo. How fun!
Follow the instructions on the frozen lemonade container to make the lemonade. Store in a large pitcher in the refrigerator.
Cut oranges into circular slices.
Cut a few in half to make quarter slices.
Peel the rinds off a few of the lemons.
Use scissors to cut the Incredibles 2 logo shapes. Turn the rinds over to make the white dot in the double “i.”
Place 1/4 slice of orange into each glass or cup, fill with ice, then pour in the lemonade.
Make your royal icing. In a medium bowl, add the egg white. Then, add in the powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, until the consistency is nice and stiff.
Place a straw through the middle of each orange slice.
Then, attach the pieces of the logo onto the orange slices with the icing.
Add to each cup, and top with a straw.
Mask Cookies
What’s a party without a themed snack? With their sparkling black sprinkles, these Mask Cookies have the perfect combination of pizzazz and taste!
Take the construction paper and sketch out your mask shape. Cut it out. This will be your template for cutting out the cookies.
Combine the softened butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla in a large bowl. Whisk until the mixture is smooth.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Mix, then slowly add the dry mix into the wet, stirring as you pour. If you need to, use your hands to finish mixing the dough together.
Roll out the dough to 1/4” thick, onto a well-floured surface.
Use the template to cut out each mask cookie.
Place on greased baking sheet and bake for about 9 minutes.
Take them out, place them on a flat surface, and let them cool completely.
Ice the cookies using the black icing. Outline the eye holes and border of the cookie, then slowly begin filling in from there. Then, add the black sugar sprinkles.
Edna Mode Mask
We can’t think of a better accessory for an Incredibles 2 party than one inspired by Edna Mode! We would never encourage anyone to wear a cape but this easy-to-make Edna mask will make for the perfect photo opp!
Use this first one as your template to trace out the rest.
Cut out the rest of the masks.
Use black paint to color in her glasses and hair, leaving the top middle white—for the shine of her hair.
Glue a lollipop stick to the back of each and let them dry completely.
Incredibles Snack Holders
Turn a snack into something super with the help of this DIY. All you need is a simple Incredibles 2 logo printable and cute container to create this fun addition for your party.
