When Disney World Reopens, Can You Even Go?

Disney World is reopening on July 11th, but that doesn’t mean that everyone who wants to go will be able to.

When Disney World Reopens, Can You Even Go?

Walt Disney World

Not only is Disney set to significantly reduce capacity in the theme parks, but some travelers may not even have a chance at planning their vacation in the first place. After all, you don’t have to worry about whether or not you can get into the parks if you’re not able to get into Florida! We’re taking a look at some of the current laws and factors that could prohibit a Disney trip for some.

International travelers may have some issues getting to Disney World.

For one, those coming from outside of the country may have a difficult time getting to Orlando. 20% of attendance in Disney World is attributed to international travelers, so we know there are some international folks who are excited to get to the parks. Right now though, there are some things in their way.

When Disney World Reopens, Can You Even Go?

For one, the U.S. State Travel Department has a Stage 4 Global Travel Advisory in effect. That means “Do Not Travel.” Due to the global health crisis, many government agencies are not deeming it safe to travel for leisure. Of course, an advisory doesn’t mean that you CAN’T travel, but some countries have full-out bans in effect.

According to the CDC, travel to the U.S. is banned for those who spent any of the previous 14 days in China, Iran, the European Schengen Area, the United Kingdom, Ireland, or Brazil. Beyond that, over 140 countries have closed their borders and/or enacted travel bans — many of them prohibiting travel to or from the U.S. and still in effect. If those bans aren’t lifted, Disney lovers in those countries will be out of luck at reopening.

PLUS, the international air travel industry took a major hit during the crisis. Per Forbes, though international flights are starting to come back, they are limited. Finding flights to Orlando may not be easy or even possible for some international travelers IF they are permitted to travel.

For some Disney-lovers in the U.S., it may be impossible to get to the parks.

International travelers aren’t the only ones who may have some issues. Anyone entering Florida from Connecticut, New Jersey, or New York must undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine upon entering the state. However, this order is set to expire on July 7th, unless the Florida Governor decides to extend the order. Currently, this quarantine applies regardless of method of transportation, and the costs of quarantine, including lodging, fall on the traveler.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Most folks will not have the means to spend two weeks in quarantine before they can get on with their Disney trip. You’d have to spend a pretty long time in Disney to make the trip worth two weeks of quarantine!

Even if you are NOT traveling from the New York tri-state area, you still need to check out the current health measures of your state and any state you may be traveling through. You may run into border checkpoints, curfews, stay at home orders, and more.

What can you do about this?

The solution? Stay informed. This is a developing situation and different states and countries are changing their health measures and restrictions all the time. You may have to wait it out until travel becomes a part of the norm again.

Disney and Beyoncé In Talks Over $100 Million Deal for Collaboration on 3 New Films

Disney and Beyoncé In Talks Over $100 Million Deal for Collaboration on 3 New Films

Disney and Beyoncé In Talks Over $100 Million Deal for Collaboration on 3 New Films. After the wild success of The Lion King (2019) it seems Disney and Beyoncé are in negotiations to collaborate on 3 new films together, including some work on the Black Panther 2 soundtrack.

An inside source spoke with U.K.’s The Sun and claims, “Beyonce’s deal with Disney for The Lion King was one of the biggest it has done to date. Now they want to expand it by giving her free reign to create her own movies under the Disney umbrella.”  The insider added: ‘The conversations are ongoing but it’s an exciting proposition.”

Another source shared with The Sun, “Beyoncé has become a major player for Disney and is the perfect fit for their brand. She’s worked on a number of projects for them, including voicing Nala in the reboot of The Lion King, and now they’re keen to secure her for more projects. Disney have put forward a deal worth around [$100 Million], which will secure Beyoncé for three major projects, including the Black Panther sequel. As part of the deal they are also trying to get her team to agree to have Beyoncé voicing some of the new documentaries coming to Disney Plus. After the success of having Meghan Markle voicing the film Elephant on the platform, they have projects coming up which align perfectly with Beyoncé’s brand. The negotiations are still ongoing but it’s the final details that are being thrashed out now.”

In the past, Disney had offered an audition to Beyoncé for the role of Tiana in Disney’s Princess and the Frog, but reports stated that the award winning singer/songwriter/director believed Disney would offer her the part without a formal audition. When she did not show, Disney continued with casting for the film and offered the role to Anika Noni Rose. It seems both the studio and Beyoncé agree with the mantra “Hakuna Matata” and have no worries about partnering together going forward.

With the combined knowledge and talent of both the studio and the multifaceted entertainer there is no doubting Disney and Beyoncé will make a great pair and could create some truly amazing work together. We can’t wait to see Black Panther 2 when it hits theaters May 6, 2022 and the mysterious future titles featuring Beyoncé’s work.

Painting has continued on Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom

Painting has continued on Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom Cinderella Castle

“Make it pink, make it blue!”

We previously reported on how Cinderella Castle is receiving a magical makeover this year. We saw Disney start work on the castle back in March, and it’s amazing how much the appearance has changed already.

The castle’s paintwork is the first sign of progress we’ve seen so far. The blue spires show the most noticeable paintwork so far. It went from a baby clue to a vibrant royal blue color. This bold color choice gives a vibrant appearance to the top of the castle. Also, the inner curtain, which is what we call the interior section of Cinderella Castle, is getting a rose gold paint treatment. It’s a subtle color choice, but it definitely adds a pop of color to a traditionally grey castle.

The last time we saw Cinderella Castle up close was in March. But now other Disney fans have observed signs that the magical makeover is still being worked on at Magic Kingdom. We can see that the crew has advanced in painting and that we’re getting closer to seeing the finished product!

The painting of Cinderella Castle has resumed!  #reopenwaltdisneyworld #seeyarealsoon #covid19 #floridacovid19 #waltdisneyworldclosure #waltdisneyworldclosed #wdwlocal #cinderellacastle #cinderellascastle #royalmakeover #cinderellacastleroyalmakeover #cinderellacastlemakeover #magickingdom #waltdisney #wdw #waltdisneyworld #disney #disneyboy #disneyparks #disneyside #disneyworld #passholderlife #disneyig #disneynews #disneygram #instadisney #nowmorethanever #ilivewhereyouvacation #disneymagicalmoments

Raglan Road Reopened in Disney Springs Today to a Bit of a CROWD!

Ever since Walt Disney World’s shopping district, Disney Springs, reopened on May 20th, more and more restaurants and retailers have been coming back.

Raglan Road Reopened in Disney Springs Today to a Bit of a CROWD!

Disney Springs

And today TONS of spots reopened, including DisneyStyle, City Works Eatery & Pour House, and The Ganachery. But that’s not all!

Raglan Road is back! The Irish pub and restaurant planned to reopen on June 10th, and open on June 10th they did! And you KNOW we were on the scene to check it out.

Raglan Road Reopened in Disney Springs Today to a Bit of a CROWD!

Raglan Road

People were pretty pumped to see Raglan Road reopening, and there was a line outside the restaurant.

Raglan Road Reopened in Disney Springs Today to a Bit of a CROWD!

Like other spots around Disney Springs, Raglan Road had a sign out front outlining its health and safety measures, including keeping 6 feet away from others, increased sanitization, and safe screens in front of staff.

We were seated outside at the restaurant, where we noticed a contactless QR code menu, but if you don’t have a smartphone, don’t worry — Raglan Road is also offering paper menus upon request.

Upon its reopening, Raglan Road is offering a condensed menu, but items like the Shepherd’s to Die for Pie, Fish & Chips, and the Braised Be Beef are still available.

To get a little taste of Raglan Road again, we sat down and ordered an appetizer. But before our order came out, our server gave us some complimentary Irish soda bread with a Guinness and sugar reduction with olive oil for dipping.

As for the food we ordered, we opted for the Nom Nom Wings, which come smothered in an Asian-inspired sauce with honey, chili flakes, soy sauce, and ginger sauce. We found these $15.00 wings a tad salty for our tastebuds, but when paired with an ice-cold pint, they could be pretty satisfying.

When we got our check, we were brought a contactless card reader, where we could tap or swipe our card.

Beyond the restaurant’s indoor and outdoor dining areas, Raglan’s Road retail store reopened today so you can stock up on Guinness T-shirts and other Irish pub-inspired goods.

In the store, we noticed social distancing markers on the floor, plexiglass in front of cashiers, and a sign asking guests to touch as few items as possible.

And because you KNOW Disney Springs LOVES its outdoor bars, Raglan Road’s own outdoor to-go bar was setting up, ready to pour pints and glasses of wine.

Slowly but surely, more spots are opening back up at Disney Springs, making this shopping district feel a bit more like its old self again! Seeing Raglan Road reopened and buzzing gets us even MORE excited for when Walt Disney World theme parks reopen in mid-July!
