Walt Disney Animation Studios launched the new, 10-episode animated series called Zenimation on Disney+

Unplug, relax, and refresh your senses for a moment of mindfulness with Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zenimation” – an animated soundscape experience. Whether it’s baby Moana being called by the ocean, Anna and Kristoff walking through an icy forest, or Baymax and Hiro Hamada flying over San Fransokyo, these iconic scenes become an aural experience like no other with the sounds of ocean waves, an icy forest and soaring flight.

“Zenimation” pays tribute to both the visual and sound artists who have created Walt Disney Animation Studios’ legacy of films. Created and edited by David Bess. From Walt Disney Animation Studios.

“Zenimation” is streaming now on Disney+.

Still waiting to return to normal operations are the Parades and Nighttime Shows.

There is no word on when they are expected to resume operations, but we expect them to be back in running soon!

In Case You Missed It: News and Rumors – Week of May 22, 2020

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I can’t believe we are officially here. Although, honestly, I don’t think this weekend is going to feel much different than the past few weekends. It’s not like I have any plans to do anything, besides sitting out on my back porch, maybe grilling up some hot dogs and s’mores. (I won’t be bitter that I was supposed to be on a cruise to Alaska…..) Anyway….what are your big plans for this socially distanced holiday weekend?

This week, see what shake ups have happened with the executive team within the Walt Disney Company, find out what new show is coming to Disney+ sooner rather than later, and more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Well, that didn’t last long. Josh D’Amaro, who was only just recently named as President of Walt Disney World has a new role. But I can’t be too sad about him leaving for his new role as chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. I think it’s a great fit and I look forward to seeing what he does moving forward.

Speaking of new roles, taking the role of President of Walt Disney World is Jeff Vahle. You can now follow him on Instagram!

Also, leaving the company is Kevin Mayer, who was in charge of Disney+ and has now left for TikTok. Some very interesting changes this week, indeed!

According to reports, Walt Disney World is the clear front-runner location for the NBA season to return to so that they can finish up the season. What do you think about this plan? Good idea?

Now another one of Walt Disney’s family members is speaking out. Walt’s grandson, Brad Lund is upset about the massive bonuses for Disney execs while workers are furloughed.

Hard to believe it, but Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is 40 years old! Share your favorite memories about this much loved film!

YAASSS!!! Muppets Now will debut in June on Disney+! I’m excited about this one!

This was pretty good…during a Twitter screening of Frozen 2, shopDisney shared that they had a new Samantha plush. I laughed pretty hard at this one.

Baby Babirusa Born At Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

animal kingdom

A new baby babirusa has been born in Animal Kingdom!

Her name is Kirana which means “sunbeam” in Indonesian and its the first one born in Animal Kingdom! Her parents are Betty and Mentari, you might have seen them at the park while you enjoyed a ride on the Kilimanjaro Safari during one of your visits to the Walt Disney World Resort.

Babirusas are an endangered specie, part of the hog family, they are native to the swamps and rainforests of the Indonesian Islands, that’s why the Animal Kingdom team gave her the name of Kirana.

Also did you know male babirusas can grow tusks as long as 17 inches that even go through their snout? Their upper ones can actually grow so much that could penetrate their skin curving back towards their forehead and sometimes back into the skull as well.

This “deer-pig” story is another successful one for Disney’s Animal, Science and Environmental Team as part of the Species Survival Plan (SSP) overseen by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. This plan assures responsible breeding for endangered species such as babirusa pigs and hartmann’s mountain zebras!

The birth of this baby babirusa is a great step toward the worldwide conservation and understanding of the species that will help to ensure a future generation for these vulnerable animals.

So next time you are at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, don’t forget to go on the Kilimanjaro Safari and say hi to Kirana!

Until then, you can learn more about animals at Disney here! Hope you enjoy it.

So at this point, it’s an undefined time or date, but we do look forward to seeing that sometime next week.”

Earlier today Universal Studios Orlando submitted their reopening plans to the Orange County Task Force with a projected date of June 5th. You can see the complete plans here.
