‘Avatar 2’ Poster, Plot Details, and Movie Title Potentially Leaked Online

‘Avatar 2’ Poster, Plot Details, and Movie Title Potentially Leaked Online. Though production is currently at a stand-still, the production team for the Avatar sequels have still been showing photos from the set that give us a little insight into the direction of the films, but some have fans even more curious about what paths the story may take.

Director James Cameron has shared that the stories will not be directly tied to one another, so you won’t have to watch the films in order to understand what is going on in the story, but he did share that a potential title for the film is Avatar: The Way of Water, some time ago. Well, it appears that either a very dedicated fan created a convincing movie poster for the sequel or somehow the actual movie poster was leaked online, giving us the films title. Check out the poster below:

Recently, the official Avatar page on Twitter shared some photos taken on set before production was frozen of director James Cameron giving direction to actors filming a mysterious underwater sequence for the films. “From the set of the sequels: [James Cameron] directing the actors before they dive underwater for performance capture. Fun fact: That layer of white on the water’s surface is comprised of floating balls that prevent lights from interfering with filming underwater.”

It is unknown which of the four sequels will feature the footage taken from this film set, as all four movies are being filmed and produced simultaneously, but the studio did share a little tidbit of information regarding how filmmakers keep too much light from ruining any shots. A good portion of the film tank is filled with pingpong balls to help with the lighting effect underwater! Pretty cool, right?!

It was also revealed that Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Vin Diesel, and Edie Falco have been added to the cast of the sequels, with Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang reprising their roles. Weaver and Lang will be reprising their roles for flashback sequences since their characters died in the first film.

Not much is known about the new characters, but we do know that Kate Winslet will be playing a Na’vi who lives underwater. We also know the sequels will follow the children of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) as they explore other aspects of Pandora.

We love learning new and creative techniques in filmmaking and can not wait to see the Avatar sequels in theaters! Currently, the films are slated to release in December 2021, 2023, 2025, 2027, and production delays are not expected to change these release dates. Be sure to follow Chip and Co. for updates and all things Disney!

Disney Cruise Line News — Week of May 19, 2020

Ahoy, mateys! I’m Heather, and I’ll be bringing you the up and coming on all things Disney Cruise Line. Welcome back again this week. Let’s see what’s new in the DCL world!

Cruise News

I know you REALLY missed a long bummer of a post about cancellations, didn’t you? Glad I am here to bring it back this week! Kidding aside, I’m truly sorry to anyone who’s had a cancelled trip during this time. We all know that there are many more pressing and important matters right now, but it’s still okay to be disappointed when the trip you’ve looked forward to is no longer!

The latest round of cancellations was a pretty big one. It extended the full shut down of the cruise line through July 28, across all four ships. Here’s a list of the newly cancelled cruises:

Disney Magic

  • July 13, 5-night Mediterranean
  • July 18, 7-night Western Europe
  • July 25, 11-night Northern Europe

Disney Wonder

  • July 6, 7-night Alaska
  • July 13, 7-night Alaska
  • July 20, 7-night Alaska
  • July 27, 7-night Alaska

Disney Dream

  • June 21, 5-night Bahamian
  • June 26, 5-night Bahamian
  • July 1, 4-night Bahamian
  • July 5, 5-night Bahamian
  • July 10, 3-night Bahamian
  • July 13, 4-night Bahamian
  • July 17, 3-night Bahamian
  • July 20, 4-night Bahamian
  • July 24, 3-night Bahamian
  • July 27, 4-night Bahamian

Disney Fantasy

  • June 20, 7-night Western Caribbean
  • June 27, 9-night Southern Caribbean
  • July 6, 5-night Western Caribbean
  • July 11, 7-night Eastern Caribbean
  • July 18, 7-night Western Caribbean
  • July 25, 7-night Eastern Caribbean

Compensation for these cancelled sailings was a bit different than we’ve seen previously. For guests who were paid in full, they were offered the option of a full refund, or a 125% Future Cruise Credit for a sailing within 15 months. Guests who were not paid in full, are being refunded for what they’ve paid so far, but there is no future cruise credit offer for these guests. It was pretty surprising to see this changeup, and one must wonder if this will be the new offer going forward as we anticipate further cancellations. Moral of the story? If you are hoping for that 125% FCC, you may want to seriously consider paying your reservation in full! I will not say it’s a foolproof strategy, fully realizing there are risks, so gamble at your own risk!

Got a question on the credit? We’ve got answers for you here!

If you are looking to book a new sailing, there’s a chunk of bookable dates that are now missing from the system. As of the time of this post, the next available dates to book per ship are:

Magic, October 12
Wonder, September 18
Dream, July 31
Fantasy, August 1

This does give me great pause when considering the fate of the European and Alaskan cruise season – perhaps the writing is on the wall already?

Now to change gears a bit, we do have some new DCL news, and it doesn’t involve the word cancel, huzzah! Yesterday, there was quite a shakeup in the leadership across the company. Thomas Mazloum is the new president of DCL, which falls under the umbrella of Disney Signature Experiences. He’s not new to the cruise line – he previously served as hotel director starting in 1998. Mazloum is replacing Jeff Vahle, who is keeping his leadership role, but this time for the Walt Disney World Resort.

News! U.S. Movie Theaters are Starting to Re-Open

As United States businesses begin to reopen, movie theaters are starting to come back online as well.

AMC Theatre

Even though AMC Theatres has announced that its locations plan to remain closed until closer to the release dates of films such as Tenet on July 17th and Mulan on July 24th, other movie theaters across the country are slowly beginning to reopen.

As reported by Variety, as of Friday, May 15th, there were about 200 movie theaters open in North America, which is nearly double the number of open locations than the week prior. Making up a large portion of the total, there are about 150 drive-in theaters open, while about 50 brick and mortar locations are open.

The states that make up the majority of open theater locations are Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma, and South Dakota. However, many other movie theaters may take a similar approach as AMC and remain closed until closer to summer movie premiere dates.

Have any of your local movie theaters reopened? Let us know in the comments.

Taika Waititi to Host Celebrity Filled ‘James and the Giant Peach’ Read-Along

Taika Waititi to Host Celebrity Filled ‘James and the Giant Peach’ Read-Along. This morning, Taika Waititi & friends, began a 10-episode journey to read through James and the Giant Peach in partnership with Roald Dahl Story Company to raise funds for Partners in Health.

Partners in Health is a social justice organization driven by the uncompromising belief that everyone, especially those most in need, deserves the right to health care, according to the PIH website.

“Partners In Health treats patients and trains the next generation of local health care workers in some of the most remote and marginalized communities around the world. We then use what we’ve learned at the grassroots level to influence global health policy so that our model of innovative care can be replicated all around the world. We partner with local governments and make open-ended commitments to countries to help them build strong public health systems. We don’t accept “no” for an answer, and know—emotionally and empirically—that the world’s injustices have cures.”

According to THR, Taika Waititi will host the 10-episode series of James and the Giant Peach With Taika and Friends, which will be posted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on the Roald Dahl YouTube channel and will feature: Meryl Streep, Chris Hemsworth, Liam Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett, Ryan Reynolds, Mindy Kaling, Benedict Cumberbatch, Lupita Nyong’o, Billy Porter and Sarah Paulson, who will all read and perform the characters from the story from within their homes.

“Being an adult child myself and having read James and the Giant Peach to my girls multiple times, I’m excited to be able to partner with my friends, the Dahl team and Partners in Health and retell this story to help those most in need right now,” said Waititi. “This wacky, wonderful tale is about resilience in children, triumph over adversity and dealing with a sense of isolation, which couldn’t been more relevant today.”

Managing director of the Roald Dahl Story Company, Luke Kelly shared, “We are so delighted to be able to support this retelling of James and the Giant Peach and not only bring a moment of joy and escapism to children and families at this very tough time — but also to raise vital funds for Partners in Health. We’re incredibly grateful and excited to have Taika and so many incredible stars taking part. We can’t wait for people to see what we’ve got in store — it’s going to be absolutely GIGANTIC fun.”

You can watch the first full episode in the video below and be sure to check out the Roald Dahl HQ Youtube Channel for the rest of the series and the Partners in Health site for more information about the work they do provide healthcare around the world.
