Disneyland is Sending Emails to Guests with Reservations Through July 22

Disneyland is Sending Emails to Guests with Reservations Through July 22

Disneyland Resort has announced a phased reopening of its theme parks next month. Pending state and local government approvals, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will plan to reopen on July 23. The Disneyland Hotel will open at a later date.

Guests with an upcoming Disneyland reservation from June 28-July 22, 2020 are receiving notifications that their stays will be impacted by the current closure and they may modify or cancel their Disney Resort hotel reservations or Walt Disney Travel Company packages.

Below is a sample of the email guests are receiving:

“Dear Guest:

We are sorry to inform you that your upcoming visit with us will be impacted by several closures.

While there is still much uncertainty with respect to the impacts of COVID-19, the safety and well-being of our Guests and employees remain Disneyland Resort’s top priority.

Pending state and local government approvals, we currently plan to reopen Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel on July 23. The Disneyland Hotel will reopen at a later date.

Unfortunately, this means we are unable to accommodate your upcoming hotel room reservation. If you have already modified or canceled your upcoming Disneyland Resort hotel room reservation or Walt Disney Travel Company vacation package, no further action needs to be taken.

If you’re interested in modifying your existing travel dates, reservations are currently available for travel dates July 23, 2020 and later.

To provide additional flexibility, we are waiving Disney-imposed change and cancellation fees up to the date of check-in for reservations with arrivals through July 22, 2020.

If you are unable to reach us before your check-in date for such time period, you will not be penalized or assessed Disney-imposed fees for cancelling your Disneyland Resort hotel room reservation or Walt Disney Travel Company vacation package after your check-in date.

Note that some package components are nonrefundable and subject to third-party operator cancellation policies. You should work directly with any third-party operators you have used to book any parts of your vacation package that were not booked through the Walt Disney Travel Company, including flights, travel protection and car rentals.

To cancel or modify your reservation, please contact the Walt Disney Travel Company at (714) 520-5050 between the hours of 8:00 AM PST and 7:00 PM PST, 7 days a week. If you are a Canada resident, please call (800) 496-6337.

If you originally booked through a Travel Professional, please reach out to them directly if you have questions or would like to reschedule.

We do anticipate heavy call volume and appreciate your patience as we work hard to respond to all inquiries.

Sincerely,
Disney Destinations LLC”

If you have a Disneyland reservation and you booked through a third party, you will need to contact them to modify or cancel your reservation.

Disney World suing Orange County over property taxes

Disney World suing Orange County over property taxes Orange County

Taxes! Taxes! Beautiful, lovely taxes!

Those who watched Disney’s animated Robin Hood movie might remember this particular Prince John quote. Unfortunately, taxes are something Disney is not excited about these days. The Walt Disney Company is suing Orange County’s Property Appraiser, Rick Singh, over their Walt Disney World property taxes. Disney argues that their 2019 property tax appraisals are too high.

In the past week, Disney filed a dozen lawsuits in the Orange Circuit Court over the property tax assessments for their theme parks, resorts, employee buildings and other structures on its sprawling property. However, Beth Watson, spokeswoman for Rick Singh’s office, disagrees with Disney’s complaints. Her office believes that Walt Disney World Resort was previously undervalued for decades by property appraisers.

“Again this year, the Disney organization has chosen use the court system to dispute the value of its property in Orange County and thereby pay reduced property taxes that would benefit area infrastructure and public schools,” Watson said. “The Orange County Property Appraiser looks forward to defending these values in court on behalf of the citizens of Orange County, so that Disney’s responsibility to the community is upheld.”

According to the Orange County appraisers, the assessed value for the four theme parks includes:

  • Magic Kingdom – $504 million
  • Epcot – $539 million
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios – $394 million
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom – $435 million

Even though Disney argues that the assessed property values are excessive, the company hasn’t stated what they believe the true values should be for the Orlando area theme parks. It’ll take time before any determination is made regarding the disputed property taxes and assessed values.

PHOTOS! Brand NEW Animal Kingdom Bag Check Area in Disney World!

We’re only four weeks out until Disney World’s official grand re-opening!

PHOTOS! Brand NEW Animal Kingdom Bag Check Area in Disney World!

Tamu Tamu Refreshments at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The parks will be opening in phases with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom slated to re-open first and Epcot and Hollywood Studios following after them. Although we’ve spotted construction on the McDonald’s, Cinderella Castle, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Walkway, there are even MORE new updates coming to Disney World than we even knew about.

Thanks to @bioreconstruct, we were able to see a first look at the new bag check area coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

While the security check has been under construction for a while with green tarps near the parking lots, the bag check area is projected to (hopefully) open along with the rest of Animal Kingdom on July 11th.

There is a new area for the trams when Disney puts more transportation back into use during the parks’ phased re-openings…

…and enough space for numerous guests to be able to go through security for a smooth entrance into Animal Kingdom.

While there is PLENTY of progress on the new bag check, we can’t be fully certain that the construction will be finished in a month. Disney Springs is also testing a new touchless security check method today that could possibly be used when parks re-open in July as well. However, we will continue to keep you updated on all things Disney World and its re-opening!

Will you be going to Animal Kingdom on July 11th? Let us know in the comments below!
