Take a Trip Around Walt Disney World Resort at Home with Special Disney+ Watchlists

Want to know what one of my favorite things about Disney+ is? It brings #DisneyMagicMoments right to me, without even having to leave my couch! If you want to welcome a piece of Disney Parks into your home, we’ve curated films and shows into special watchlists inspired by favorite Walt Disney World Resort experiences—and they’re all available to stream now on Disney+.

Following our recent trip around Disneyland park, today let’s take a tour around the four Walt Disney World theme parks to spark our imaginations and take us back to some of our favorite memories from The Most Magical Place on Earth:

Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales
Magic Kingdom Park: “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” “The Little Mermaid” and “Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings”

Today’s watchlist starts off with Magic Kingdom Park, where you may be thrilled to go on a treasure hunt alongside Captain Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” or you may prefer an underwater adventure with your favorite mermaid and sea creatures in “The Little Mermaid.” If you fantasize about dream weddings and honeymoons, you can watch fairytales unfold right from the comfort of your own home with “Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings.”

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Episode IX
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: “Toy Story 4,” “Mickey Mouse” Cartoon Shorts and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”

Adventures and excitement await at every turn at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can have a virtual theme park experience from home with these thrilling titles. Sing and play along with your favorite toys as Woody, Buzz, and the gang are reunited. If you’re looking for a place where “mouse rules apply” and anything can happen, then the “Mickey Mouse” cartoon shorts are for you. For a more galactic adventure, follow Rey, Finn and Poe as they battle Kylo Ren and the First Order in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”

Avatar
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: “The Lion King,” “Avatar” and “Jane Goodall: The Hope”

For all the animal lovers out there, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is where you may feel most at home. Here we embrace Hakuna Matata and the spirit of animals and nature, with titles like “The Lion King,” “Avatar” and “Jane Goodall: The Hope” from National Geographic.

Disney Pixar Ratatouille
EPCOT: “Ratatouille,” “Frozen 2,” “Mary Poppins Returns”

There’s no better place to end our journey through Walt Disney World Resort than at EPCOT, with its exciting attractions and international pavilions. Whether you want to venture into the kitchen or into the unknown, where you can “let it go” or step in time with your favorite chimney sweeps, there is a title here for you!

Immersing ourselves in some of the great Disney stories on Disney+ helps bring our favorite Disney Parks memories to life. Let’s all continue to make time for magic together and check out even more movies, shows and shorts inspired by Disney Parks on Disney+.

Fantastic New Sorcerer Mickey Tiki Mugs Now Have New Color Variants

It is definitely a very tiki-tastic month. Mondo has definitely been on their Tiki game too! In addition to their newly launched Scrooge McDuck and Sorcerer Mickey Tiki Mugs, they now also have variant colors of the Mickey one! Sorcerer Mickey sold out pretty quick, so we’re excited to have other color choices to welcome him to our tiki loving homes!

Sorcerer Mickey Tiki Mugs

Sorcerer Mickey Tiki Mugs

In addition to the original Sorcerer Mickey style which featured the traditional colors, there are now four variant colors to collect. Each mug retails for $75.00, and is designed by Tom “Thor” Thordarson and sculpted by Istanbul-based Tufan Sezer. They are also made by hand by the sorcerers over at Tiki Farm.

The Alamo variant has a rich brown color which is popular on classic tiki mugs.

Sorcerer Mickey Tiki Mugs

The Aether variant is a glorious chrome! I feel like it almost looks like liquid onyx, it is gorgous!

Elemental is boldly blue, and looks like the rising waters of Sorcerer Mickey’s spell gone awry.

Sorcerer Mickey Tiki Mugs

Lastly is the Fortune Variant. It is a jade green, just like a lucky jade amulet! I really love the name choice for this color option. All of the mugs are stunning, but I really do believe this is my favorite of the five choices!

You can find these gorgeous Sorcerer Mickey Tiki Mugs now at Mondoshop.com! Which one is your favorite?

Orange County Mayor doesnt think the theme parks will open till June

Orange County

Across the nation, theme parks have been closed since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Orlando is the theme park capitol of America and it’s been over two months since anyone has visited Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, or SeaWorld Orlando. Even though businesses are beginning to return in phased openings, the Orange County Mayor doesn’t expect Central Florida’s theme parks to reopen until at least June.

During a recent coronavirus update, Governor Ron DeSantis made the announcement of how Florida will enter a “full phase one” by Monday, May 18th. Theme park organizations can start submitting their plans on that day. To clarify, those plans must include a date for when theme parks reopen, guidelines to keep both employees and guests safe, and an endorsement from an appropriate elected official.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings is able to provide such an endorsement, however, he revealed how he hasn’t received any reopening plans from Disney, Universal, or SeaWorld. He did say that theme parks could be permitted to reopen during the second phase, but there’s no scheduled date for when phase two will begin in Florida. Orange County Major Demings went on to say the following:

“Suffice it to say, they’re looking at later dates to reopen and I believe what we can expect or anticipate in our community is a measured reopening. They will likely start with smaller business units, maybe hotels and resort-type areas before the major, massive theme parks themselves will reopen but in any case I suspect that that is going to be, clearly, some time in June or thereafter before that occurs.”

Mom’s Meat Loaf Recipe from 50’s Prime Time Cafe

50's prime time

Meat Loaf is a classic staple dinner item and the one from 50’s Prime Time Cafe is my absolute favorite! I order it every time we eat at 50’s Prime Time. Since we can’t go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and enjoy Mom’s recipe right now, we found a way to make it at home!

Here’s what you’ll need:

For the meat loaf

  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely cracked black peppercorns (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt (or to taste)

For the glaze ~

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

How to make it:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 and lightly oil or spray with non-stick spray 2 medium-sized loaf pans (about 8.5 inches by 4.5 inches).
  2. In a large bowl, combine bread crumbs, onion, and bell peppers until completely mixed. Add beef, pork, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and salt.
  3. Using your hands, combine until all ingredients are completely combined, but take care to not overmix (overmixed meat will become overly mushy).
  4. Divide the meat mixture in half and shape into two, rounded loaves. Place in loaf pans.
  5. Place loaf pans in oven and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until juices run clear and a meat thermometer says the inner temperature is 155 degrees.
  6. Brush meatloaves with glaze (preparation instructions below) and bake an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Remove the meatloaves from the oven and allow to stand 5-10 minutes before serving.
  8. To serve, slice and serve warm with additional glaze or gravy on top.
  9. Prepare the glaze by combining ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and mustard and stirring until combined.

I know what I’ll be having for dinner tonight! Thanks to The Disney Chef for this recipe.

If you go to the ‘My Photos’ section of the app you will see all of the complimentary images:

They have some for both desktop and mobile devices.

You can save these spooktacular images to your devices and use them as wallpaper or you can purchase photo gifts like magnets, mugs, and ornaments. These photos will hopefully hold us over until we can go to the parks again!
