It’s Weird But True! National Geographic Kids’ Most Popular Franchise Comes to Disney+!

National Geographic’s third season of the Emmy Award–winning series Weird But True! premiered on Disney+ August 14, hosted by children’s entertainers and educators Charlie Engelman and Carly Ciarrocchi. But did you know Weird But True! started as a special feature in National Geographic Kids magazine in 2004 after the former magazine editor’s 60-year-old mom came up with the idea!?

Since then, Weird But True! has grown into National Geographic Kids’ most popular franchise with content across multiple platforms. National Geographic Kids has published more than 15,000 Weird But True! facts and counting.

In 2015 Sirius XM launched Weird But True Radio! on the Kids Place Live channel. The show, which aired five times a week, won the Silver Award at the New York International Radio Awards in 2018.

Weird But True! Books launched in 2010, and the series is up to nearly 40 titles, from the original numbered series to single subjects like dinosaurs and sports, and even sticker doodle books and a fun write-in journal. With more than seven million copies in print around the world, kids can read Weird But True! Books in 14 languages, including Chinese, Turkish, Thai and Arabic!

Digital Menus Offer Easy, Reduced-Contact Ordering at Walt Disney World Resort

During visits to Walt Disney World Resort, the delicious “Grey Stuff”  and many, many other mouthwatering dishes are just a few easy taps away with mobile ordering off our digital menus.  It’s menu magic technology that limits contact and is simple to use – scan a QR code, select and enjoy!

Currently, most quick-service park restaurant menus are available in the Mobile Order section of the My Disney Experience app and/or displayed on signage at the restaurant. And at select table-service locations, you can easily access a digital menu by scanning a QR code for a magical dining experience.

Hosted by Imagineer Jeremy Costello, the tutorial will show you and your family how to come away with a whimsical piece of art. The drawing features a number of tropical elements including thatch huts, exotic plants and birds, and more.

#DisneyMagicMoments: Go ‘Behind the Magic’ of Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Toy Story Land brings the stories and characters from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Toy Story” films to life in a whole new way at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Andy’s turned his backyard into a theme park for Woody, Buzz Lightyear and all his other favorite toys, and we’re invited to play along!

When you explore this vibrant land, you feel like you’re the size of a toy, with stacks of blocks towering above you, festive lights strung overhead and even benches are made from popsicle sticks! The land’s three attractions – Slinky Dog Dash, Toy Story Mania! and Alien Swirling Saucers – offer fun for the whole family as you immersive yourself in the stories of your favorite toys.

Today we’re taking you “Behind the Magic” of Toy Story Land to learn more about this special place and how it helped transform Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Watch the video below to hear from Pam Rawlins, executive producer for Walt Disney Imagineering, and Roger Gould, creative director for Pixar Animation Studios’ theme park team, as they discuss everything from the land’s creative vision to how they added more “Slinkification” to Slinky Dog Dash. You’ll also get to see some amazing images of Toy Story Land in development.
