Disneyland Paris to Begin Phased Reopening Beginning July 15

At Disneyland Paris, we have been celebrating our Disney Parks family from around the world. From our colleagues at Shanghai Disney Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland who have reopened their gates, to Walt Disney World and Disneyland who announced their plans to reopen next month – we are inspired by their resilience and proud of what they’ve accomplished to once again welcome guests back to experience the magic of our resorts.

As President of Disneyland Paris, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside our team of dedicated cast members who have demonstrated tremendous commitment to preserving the magic for our guests and fans during our unprecedented closure. The last several months have tested us and our community – both personally and professionally – but together we have persevered with optimism and determination. We are grateful for the resilience of our cast members and local community, the enthusiasm of our guests and fans, and the positive momentum of the many reopenings in the tourism industry throughout Europe. We’ve been so touched by our guests around the world who’ve found creative ways to maintain their connection to Disneyland Paris from home.

Now, as our community begins to recover, I’m thrilled to share that our iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle will once again welcome guests to its towering spires and sprawling vistas when the resort begins its phased reopening on July 15. Since its temporary closure in March of this year, guests of all ages have been eagerly awaiting the reopening of our premiere European destination. Come July 15, Disneyland Paris will begin a phased reopening with visitors able to return to Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney’s Newport Bay Club hotel, and Disney Village. We look forward to the return of our cast members and reopening our gates so that our guests may once again enjoy our resort.

As we approach this day, we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our cast members and guests. In line with French government and health authorities’ recommendations, the phased reopening of Disneyland Paris will present a deliberate approach with enhanced health and safety measures tailored to our specific environment. This will include limits on attendance and require advanced ticketing and reservations to accommodate controlled guest density that aligns with government guidance on physical distancing.

We’ve been looking forward to the day we are all able to return to Disneyland Paris, and upon reopening, guests will be able to experience the guest service we are known for, our iconic attractions and entertainment, heart-warming new character moments, and even a few surprises along the way. As we are taking a phased approach, some experiences will change and others will return at a later date, but the magic that our cast is world renowned for will remain. We know it will take all of us working together, both cast members and guests, in this shared responsibility to promote a healthy and safe environment. More information on the enhanced health and safety measures are available on www.disneylandparis.com

Over the next few weeks, our teams will be taking steps to prepare Disneyland Paris for a successful reopening, from visible changes to accommodate physical distancing, to new training for all of our cast members. We know that reopening is just the beginning, and we will continually adjust our plans as appropriate in this evolving situation with input from safety and health authorities.

As we reflect on the last several months, the magic of being able to enjoy a Disney experience means so much more. I’m very much looking forward to the day when our guests and cast members can celebrate being together again. Until then, stay safe, keep dreaming, and see you soon at Disneyland Paris! After all, there is no magic without YOU!

Staying at a Good Neighbor Hotel at Walt Disney World? You’ll Want to Keep THIS in Mind!

The Disney Park Pass Reservation system will be going live tomorrow on June 22nd at 7 AM EST!

Flower and Garden Festival

While a number of Disney-owned hotels prepare ready to welcome resort guests back that same day, many guests are looking forward to the moment they are able to step back into the Disney World parks. In order to reduce its capacity, Disney has released its new theme park reservation system as a way to limit the amount of guests in a park at a time.

There will be a limited amount of reservations available for parks when they re-open, and guests will not be able to park-hop. The Disney Park Pass reservations will first be made accessible to guests who have an upcoming stay at the Disney Resorts.

Magic Kingdom

Disney has also announced that Good Neighbor hotels, like the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, Shades of Green Resort, and others will have the same access to the Disney Park Pass system just like other Disney-owned Resort guests.

Good Neighbor Hotels Information

However, as everyone gets ready to start making their plans tomorrow (Magic Kingdom, here we come!!), we thought it was important to note some of the restrictions surrounding the hotels. According to the Good Neighbor hotels’ websites, they have stated that it may take up to 72 hours to be able to access the Disney Park Pass system and link reservations.

Although it’s unclear at this time how each resort will be handling these reservations, resort guests will still have priority access to the Disney Park Pass system. Annual Passholders without a hotel reservation will not be able to make reservations until June 26th with regular ticket holders following afterwards on June 28th.

So if you’re looking to book a stay at one of these Good Neighbor hotels, keep in mind that you need to give it at least 72 hours in the system before you’ll be able to make those Park Pass ressies! We will continue to give you more details on the Disney Park Pass system as we learn them. And, we will provide you with a first look at the process tomorrow when the system goes live!

Here’s What You NEED to Know About Making a Disney World Park Pass Reservation for Your Entire Party!

It has been a WEEK in Disney World news!

Here’s What You NEED to Know About Making a Disney World Park Pass Reservation for Your Entire Party!

Food and Wine Festival 2019

We’ve shared some wild stuff recently, like the brand new version of Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival that debuts July 15th, the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (still crying a little bit), and the announcement for ALL the rides and entertainment re-opening in the parks.

Sounds like a lot, right? Well, Disney has ALSO released information on the Disney Park Pass, which is Disney World’s new mandatory theme park reservation system. The system will go live TOMORROW, June 22nd, at 7 AM EST for guests with existing hotel reservations and valid theme park entry to schedule their visits to the parks.

Cinderella Castle

Although we’ve given you a step-by-step tutorial on how to make reservations through Disney Park Pass, things can be a little bit confusing since there are so many different situations to consider. And, our number one priority here at DFB is to help you with your vacation and planning needs (and keep you up to date on all the Disney news!).

China Pavilion

We’ve been seeing a lot of confusion over how regular ticket holders and Annual Passholders would be able to make reservations together. Since Annual Passholders will only be able to make 3 park reservations at a time starting June 26th and regular ticket holders can make reservations on June 28th, your Disney plans are probably going to see some major changes.

Here’s What You NEED to Know About Making a Disney World Park Pass Reservation for Your Entire Party!

Walt Disney World Annual Passholder

At this time, we understand that Passholders with a hotel reservation should be allowed to book for the length of their hotel stay, but if your party has both Annual Passholders and regular ticket holders, you may need to make two different park reservations at this time. Disney has stated that all guests must have valid park ticketing, but your type of admission may prevent you from making a certain amount of reservations.

If you have a hotel reservation, but multiple kinds of tickets within your party, you’ll still be able to book together as a group due to your hotel stay. But if, for example, you have a local friend looking to visit with you for the day, even if you’re synced in My Disney Experience, they may need to book their Park Pass separately. Keep in mind that this can always change.

Celebrating the New Tri-Circle-D Ranch, Home to Heritage and Happy Horses

With the phased reopening of our Disney Resort hotels at Walt Disney World Resort, we’re excited to welcome guests back to the campground with a fresh new barn at Tri-Circle-D Ranch. Our animal care team continues to take great care of our horses, and are thrilled to share this magnificent milestone at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Celebrating the New Tri-Circle-D Ranch, Home to Heritage and Happy Horses

Tri-Circle-D Ranch has a long history of housing “The Happiest Horses on Earth,” as it was part of Walt’s vision to bring horses to Magic Kingdom Park much like he did in Disneyland. Tri-Circle-D Ranch was established before opening day of Walt Disney World Resort, making his wish come true.

Back in August, we shared that our horses and ranch team were receiving a beautifully enhanced new barn, with plenty of space for play time, pony rides and more. The new stable features larger stalls for the horses, including 10 additional stalls – all equipped with automatic water stations. The barn is more than twice the size of the original barn with two tack rooms, a wedding harness room showcasing tack for Cinderella’s ponies and the return of the museum dedicated to Walt’s love of horses.

Along with the museum, our horses themselves brought an iconic piece of Disney history back to the barn—the 1907 Dragon Calliope. Walt Disney purchased the horse-drawn musical wagon for Disneyland Park in the 1950s, and it is currently on display at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Watch the horse-powered move below:

But that’s not all that’s new at Tri-Circle-D Ranch! Last week, we shared the newest addition to our animal collection, Violet, a pony foal born right here at the new stable. Violet is already finding her independence as she plays around in the pastures and enjoys running around with her mom, Elsa, for some quality bonding time.

The ranch is a quick trot away from its original location, just around the corner from the bus loop by Pioneer Hall. To learn more about horses and many of the other animals in our care, visit DisneyAnimals.com.

How Will the NBA Keep Its Players Safe at Disney World? Here’s What Officials Have to Say.

It’s official, folks! The NBA is coming to Disney World!

How Will the NBA Keep Its Players Safe at Disney World? Here’s What Officials Have to Say.

NBA Experience

While we’ve already found out where the teams will likely be housed on Disney property and what amenities they should be able to experience, there have still been some discussions over what the safest ways to conduct the NBA’s season are currently.

According to the ESPN, the NBA will still be holding its season in Walt Disney World, despite the recently expressed concerns from the association. Since Florida has had a skyrocketing number of cases recently, NBA officials have worried about bringing the 22 teams to Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports.

However, NBA commissioner Adam Silver expressed his confidence in the “NBA’s bubble concept” during a virtual meeting with the players and officials. During this meeting, there were concerns expressed about how the hotel housekeepers and custodians may not have to undergo COVID-19 testing, even though they will be in the areas NBA players will be staying on Disney property.

NBA spokesman Mike Bass has also stated that they are “closely monitoring the data in Florida and Orange County and will continue to work collaboratively with the National Basketball Players Association, public health officials and medical experts regarding our plans.”

NBA Experience

The league recently sent out a detailed guide about what precautions would be taken, including specific staff at NBA hotels, once-a-week room housekeeping without the players and staff present, the use of personal protective equipment and distancing measures from the Disney Cast Members, and non-Disney team bus drivers who will be subjected to testing.

NBPA executive director Michele Roberts has also noted “that access to the campus is severely limited” and that they will implement more health and safety measures and restrictions if they are deemed necessary. The NBA teams will begin playing their season at the ESPN Wide World of Sports on July 31st. Since this is an evolving situation, we will continue to keep you updated!
