As Hong Kong Disneyland Reopens, Guests Once Again ‘Believe in Magic’ and View the Castle of Magical Dreams Construction in its Final Transformation Stage

Disney parks are some of the happiest places on earth – allowing family and friends to come together and immerse themselves in unforgettable experiences while discovering wonder and joy around every turn.

Today, we marked the return of that wonder and joy at Hong Kong Disneyland as we reopened our gates to once again welcome guests and fans.

Creating magic today means even more to us than ever before. This was especially apparent as thousands of talented and dedicated Hong Kong cast members came together to take great care in preparing the park for the return of our guests. As we reopened our park today, we reflected on the strength and resilience of our community, the perseverance of our cast members, the support from our guests and the unwavering commitment of our medical responders. To each of these groups – we thank you for your significant contributions that helped lead us to this special moment.

We were happy to welcome more than a hundred families from our neighborhood – Lantau Island  to be among our first guests at our reopening today. Hong Kong Disneyland will continue working with different non-profit organizations to invite families to visit us, inspiring them with the magic of Disney’s positivity and optimism.

Today serves as an important step forward for Hong Kong Disneyland. We are excited not only about upcoming milestones for our park, but also for the rest of our Disney parks around the world.

During the past few months, it was inspiring to witness our cast members and fans continue to believe in the magic of Hong Kong Disneyland by allowing it to live on in their homes, hearts and imaginations. Now that we have begun our reopening, please continue to imagine all that is possible because there are so many new memories to be made. This is only the beginning.

We’re incredibly proud of our beautiful Castle of Magical Dreams as it enters its final stage of construction and magical transformation. The Castle will launch later this year and represents a shining beacon of courage, hope and possibility. I hope you find joy in these photos from day one of our reopening at Hong Kong Disneyland and I look forward to the opening of our other parks around the world!

Face Masks will be Required for Guests Visiting Disneyland

Face Masks will be Required for Guests Visiting Disneyland

With Disneyland‘s reopening coming up next month, Disney fans have been wondering what the health and safety requirements will be. Disney puts the health and safety of both Cast Members and guests as its number one priority.

A recent update shows that Disney is working hard to make sure that there are detailed protocols and procedures to protect the well being of all who will be at the parks. One of those includes all guests and Cast Members are required to wear face masks while at the Disneyland Resort.

You can read the health and safety statement from Disney below:

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

“We recognize that the COVID-19 situation is constantly evolving, which is why our reopening approach is deliberately fluid and phased, and there are many factors that are helping us determine the timing of when various aspects of our business will reopen in a responsible way. In addition to following existing state and local guidelines, which continue to evolve, we currently are working with our unions to responsibly and thoughtfully implement new health and safety measures for Cast Members. These enhanced health and safety measures include:

  • Enhanced Protective Measures: We will require mandatory face coverings for both Cast Members and Guests, with the addition of hand-washing stations and physical barriers, where appropriate.
  • Physical Distancing: We will reduce theme park capacity to enable physical distancing and add appropriate signs to help Guests move responsibly throughout the property.
  • Temperature Checks: All Guests will undergo temperature screenings prior to entering the Downtown Disney District or the theme parks; in addition, health screenings and temperature checks will be required daily for Cast Members.
  • Limited-Contact Enhancements: We are recommending cashless transactions and we will reduce Cast Member and Guest interactions with helpful technology, including the expansion of Mobile Order in our Disneyland app, Apple Pay and more.
  • Enhanced Cleaning and Sanitation: We will build upon our existing standards of cleaning with heightened protocols.

While it may be a bit different from the last time you visited, we’ve come up with new ways to create magical moments together—and memories to treasure forever.”

Will you visit the Disneyland Resort with these enhanced health and safety measures?
