What is Flo’s V8 Cafe?

Flo’s V8 Cafe is a quick-service restaurant themed to Route 66 in Cars Land that serves Southwestern-inspired American comfort food.

Where is Flo’s V8 Cafe?

Flo’s V8 Cafe is located in Cars Land, is an iconic fixture in the area, and will be tough to miss once you’re near it. It sits near the end of the street on your right-hand side before you reach the entrance to Radiator Springs Racers; consult the map below for the fastest path from the park entrance.

What You Need to Know About the Menu at Flo’s V8 Cafe

Flo’s V8 Cafe serves American comfort food classics like pot pie, fried chicken, and pulled pork sandwiches, many with a hint of Southwestern flair thrown in, like the use of chipotle in the BBQ sauce for the pulled pork. It has a fairly standard kids menu, serving chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and sliders. Flo’s also features milkshakes, and has a breakfast menu that includes a classic American breakfast and tamales.

What the Dining Experience Is Like at Flo’s V8 Cafe

The decor at Flo’s is reminiscent of a roadside diner, with classic black and white tile, chrome, and neon. There is lots of Cars-themed decor sprinkled throughout, including memorabilia featuring Flo and the Motorama Girls, and Doc Hudson’s early days as a racer. All in all, it’s very well done. You’ll stand in line to place your order and then receive your food and seat yourself. Flo’s is quite large, and there is ample seating indoors and out. The outdoor seating on the back patio offers a great view of Radiator Springs Racers. Flo’s does offer mobile ordering.

What are Some Items to Target at Flo’s V8 Cafe?

The food at Flo’s is quite good in general, by quick-service standards, but the fried chicken and pot pies are stand-outs. If you’re there for breakfast, try the Brioche French Toast with salted caramel sauce and bananas.

What You Need to Know About Accessibility for Flo’s V8 Cafe

Flo’s V8 Cafe is fully accessible and should not present any unique challenges for visitors in wheelchairs or ECVs. Guests with allergies should ask about allergy-friendly options, which you can preview here.

Does Weather Affect Flo’s V8 Cafe?

There is significant seating both indoors and out, and the outdoor seating in front is generally covered. Shade and protection from rain is more scarce in the patio seating area out back.

What is a Good Time to Visit Flo’s V8 Cafe?

Flo’s is the largest eating establishment in Cars Land and can accommodate large crowds, but as with all restaurants, eating at off-times will guarantee you the shortest wait. A late lunch in early afternoon is a good time to target.

Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle

One of the safety measures in place upon the reopening of the parks will be limited guest capacity to promote physical distancing. And Disney has revealed that — as will be the case when Walt Disney World reopens its theme parks starting July 11th — Disneyland Resort will utilize a reservation system for guests.

The new theme park reservation system will require that all guests — including Annual Passholders — obtain a reservation to enter a park in advance of their visit to Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure. Reservations will be subject to availabilty.

Details have not yet been provided as to how the reservation system will work when the Walt Disney World theme parks reopen, and the same is the case for Disneyland Resort. Disney shares that “More details about this new reservation system will be available soon,” and we will share those with you right here as this story develops! In the meantime, you can learn more about the proposed plans for the reopening of Disneyland Resort — including the Resort hotels and the Downtown Disney District — here.

What do you think of the theme park reservation system announced so far? Please let us know with a comment!

Major League Soccer teams to stay at Disney’s Swan & Dolphin Resort

Major League Soccer teams to stay at Disney’s Swan & Dolphin Resort Swan & Dolphin

We just shared the news that Major League Soccer is coming to Walt Disney World! All 26 Teams will be resuming their 2020 season at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex starting July 8th, but where will all of these players stay?

While this information wasn’t shared on the initial release we did some digging and found the information on the MLS website under their Health & Safety Protocols.

Here is the info:

In addition to the screenings and testing described above, an MLS task force has worked with leading experts to create guidelines and best practices to help reduce risk and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

These include:

  • Wearing face coverings/face masks;
  • Social distancing;
  • General hygiene (Ex. avoid touching face, washing hands frequently, avoid sharing food, bottles, towels or equipment);
  • Cleaning and sanitization (disinfecting surfaces).

The Walt Disney World Resort Swan and Dolphin Hotel will be providing enhanced cleaning of all venues and enforcing appropriate capacity-management and other social distancing guidelines.

So this sounds like to me that these MLS Players will be staying at Disney’s Swan & Dolphin Resort during their return.

Recently we shared the news that the Swan & Dolphin will be closed till the end of July but according to the tournament schedule, it can run up until the middle of August. So there is a good chance we might see the closure of the Swan & Dolphin even longer than July.

In case you missed the news NBA teams will be contained to three specific hotels at Walt Disney World with nightly COVID-19 testing.

Disney releases an Update on staying at a Disney Resort Hotel before reopening

Disney releases an Update on staying at a Disney Resort Hotel before reopening Disney Resort Hotel

Vice President of Worldwide Safety Services Katie Kelly has just released an update on staying at a Disney Resort Hotel this morning:

Check it out below…

Dear Guests,

As we look towards reopening our parks and resorts around the world, your wellbeing – and the wellbeing of our cast members – is one of our top priorities. In March, we began the phased reopening of Shanghai Disney Resort, and on May 20, we took another step as guests returned to shop and dine at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort. Just as we’ve started making plans for our theme parks, we are also making plans for our hotels and Disney Vacation Club resorts. With that in mind, we wanted to share what you can expect when you book a stay at a Disney Resort hotel.

As Disney’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Pamela Hymel shared in her previous update, our health and safety team has taken a close look at the experiences at our hotels, from resort and room cleaning to check-in, dining and entertainment, so you can have a magical visit with peace of mind. During your stay, you’ll find updates and enhancements made with health and safety in mind, in line with the guidance of health and government authorities.

At the Resort

Staying with confidence starts at check-in, with options to use Online Check-in service at select locations and meet your luggage at your room with redesigned bell services.

Throughout Disney Resort hotels, we’re increasing cleaning in high-traffic areas such as elevators and escalators, handrails, benches, tables, handles, restrooms, and more. We’ve also expanded the number of hand sanitizer locations across the property.

At our restaurants, lobbies, pools, fitness centers, and other public areas, we’re looking at adjusting services to enable preventive measures and physical distancing, including reducing capacity where appropriate and implementing enhanced cleaning measures.

We’re using technology to aid us in these efforts, with limited-contact services in place at our shopping and dining locations, with Mobile Order, cashless options and Magic Bands.**

In Your Room

Before arrival, every room will be given enhanced cleaning. During your stay, a light cleaning service (including removal of trash and replenishment of towels and amenities) will be offered every other day.**

Our housekeeping cast members will receive training on increased cleaning measures throughout the resort hotel and for each guest room, including updated practices for cleaning tools and managing in-room amenities, linens, luggage, and more.

Disney releases an Update on staying at a Disney Resort Hotel before reopening

Of course, we all have an important role to play in promoting health and safety. We are asking our guests to help, by washing your hands frequently with soap and water; following physical distancing and other guidelines when you visit; and rescheduling your visit if you or a member of your party feel ill or are subject to quarantine or other travel restrictions.

We’ll share more information about the health and safety measures at Disney Resort hotels with you ahead of your visit – and continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as appropriate.

While our new experience may be a little different from the last time you stayed with us, a magical and memorable visit awaits you at our Disney resort hotels. We’re looking forward to welcoming you – see you real soon!
