The holiday crowds are start to arrive, and although each park is at reduced capacity, we’re seeing some hefty wait times. We received 194 actual wait times today from our Lines app users. Thank you, Liners! Overall Disney’s posted wait times were fairly accurate at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. But Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT had posted wait times that were largely inflated compare to the actual wait times observed. Let’s take a closer look.
Magic Kingdom Wait Times
At Magic Kingdom today our team observed only 7 out of 500 guests that were not wearing their masks in accordance with Disney’s guidelines. Put another way, 98.5% of guests observed wore their masks correctly. All but five attractions had their longest average wait times of the past 7 days. But today was also the busiest day of the past 30 so let’s focus on the attractions that had their highest wait times of the past 30 days. These particular attractions are quite popular with young children, maybe there’s a trend here in terms of the guests that are in the parks this time of year?
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin had an average wait time today of 44 minutes. Its 7-day average is 40 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 38 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 35 minutes, so today ranks #70 for the past year.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant had an average wait time today of 26 minutes. Its 7-day average is 14 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 16 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 21 minutes, so today ranks #67 for the past year.
“it’s a small world” had an average wait time today of 51 minutes. Its 7-day average is 43 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 42 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 34 minutes, so today ranks #11 for the past year.
Mad Tea Party had an average wait time today of 19 minutes. Its 7-day average is 14 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 15 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 15 minutes, so today ranks #54 for the past year. We received 4 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 80% of the posted wait time.
The Barnstormer had an average wait time today of 33 minutes. Its 7-day average is 25 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 27 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 23 minutes, so today ranks #59 for the past year.
Tomorrowland Speedway had an average wait time today of 33 minutes. Its 7-day average is 17 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 17 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 21 minutes, so today ranks #47 for the past year.
And although today wasn’t it’s busiest day, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had an average wait time today of 81 minutes. Its 7-day average is 70 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 72 minutes, so today ranks #5 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 77 minutes, so today ranks #91 for the past year. We received 4 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 90% of the posted wait time.

EPCOT Wait Times
We saw a steep decline in wait times yesterday and we continue to see a major drop today. Most annual passholders, or rather anyone not at the Platinum level, are blocked out from now until January 3, 2021. This is a big deal because this is the first weekend of the blockout, and it is believed that annual passholders have been filling in major gaps in EPCOT’s attendance. With the dramatic drop in wait times it stands to reason that the blocked out annual passholders are being missed severely at EPCOT.
Journey Into Imagination With Figment had an average wait time today of 17 minutes. Its 7-day average is 16 minutes, so today ranks #2 for this week. Its 30-day average is 20 minutes, so today ranks #16 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 16 minutes, so today ranks #99 for the past year.
Living with the Land had an average wait time today of 6 minutes. Its 7-day average is 12 minutes, so today ranks #6 for this week. Its 30-day average is 13 minutes, so today ranks #29 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 14 minutes, so today ranks #240 for the past year.
Soarin’ had an average wait time today of 40 minutes. Its 7-day average is 42 minutes, so today ranks #5 for this week. Its 30-day average is 47 minutes, so today ranks #20 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 38 minutes, so today ranks #105 for the past year.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Wait Times
The thing to keep in mind with Hollywood Studios is that wait times are not just about the total attendance in the park, it is all about how well, or not, Rise of the Resistance is performing that day. So let’s start there for a change.
Rise of the Resistance had a decent day, compared to some of the really rough days it had last week. But it still got off to a late start around 9:15 a.m. and it had a slight gap around 11:30 a.m. There was also the short break around 3:30 p.m. that we typically see every day. Couple the mild delays with a very busy park and today ends up having the highest wait times of the past 30 days.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith had an average wait time today of 58 minutes. Its 7-day average is 40 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 45 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 59 minutes, so today ranks #84 for the past year.
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue had an average wait time today of 39 minutes. Its 7-day average is 34 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 28 minutes, so today ranks #1 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 27 minutes, so today ranks #32 for the past year. We received 10 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 37% of the posted wait time.

Animal Kingdom is decently popular with annual passholders, and with the current reservation system, it’s been the old reliable park for last minute park reservations. It would seem the lack of annual passholders is impacting Animal Kingdom too. Today’s wait times rank number 19 out of the past 30 days.
DINOSAUR had an average wait time today of 39 minutes. Its 7-day average is 39 minutes, so today ranks #4 for this week. Its 30-day average is 43 minutes, so today ranks #18 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 34 minutes, so today ranks #104 for the past year.
Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain had an average wait time today of 28 minutes. Its 7-day average is 22 minutes, so today ranks #1 for this week. Its 30-day average is 37 minutes, so today ranks #18 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 43 minutes, so today ranks #144 for the past year.
