Disneyland is taking another step towards reopening!
Disneyland Resort is scheduled to begin a phased reopening starting with Downtown Disney on July 9. Both Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure are set to follow, reopening on July 17th.
And Disneyland has now taken another step towards preparing for the reopening! According to The Orange County Register, Disneyland has started recalling hundreds of Cast Members from the monthslong furlough.
According to Workers United Local 50, which represents 7,850 food and beverage workers at Disneyland Resort, Disney was expected to start contacting approximately 775 Cast Members over the past weekend who will begin returning to work on June 28th.
Upon reopening, Disneyland will implement a number of new health and safety procedures including limitations on parking, reduced operating hours, managing attendance with a new reservation system, and temporarily pausing parades, nighttime spectaculars, and character meets and greets.
