Vivoli Il Gelato’s Birthday Cake Shake at Disney Springs is a Party in a Cup

Vivoli Il Gelato’s Birthday Cake Shake at Disney Springs is a Party in a Cup Birthday Cake Shake

You’re going to need to be able to handle your sugar for this one. Vivoli Il Gelato just reopened in Disney Springs and they have a sweetness overload waiting for you. Its name is the Birthday Cake Shake. If you’ve never been able to choose between cake and ice cream, this shake is for you!

Vivoli Il Gelato’s Birthday Cake Shake at Disney Springs is a Party in a Cup

The Birthday Cake Shake is aptly named because it wears an entire cupcake on top. The overarching theme seems to be confetti; cake batter gelato forms the base of the shake, with visible specks of rainbow confetti sprinkles throughout, and a plentiful dose of confetti also crowns the cupcake. The shake also has whipped cream and an additional sprinkle of confetti.

Check out this new Birthday Cake Shake from Vivoli Il Gelato at Disney Springs! It is made with cake batter gelato and has an entire cupcake on top! . #chipandco #disneyfood #icecream #waltdisneyworld #disneysprings #vivoliilgelato @disneysprings

The cupcake isn’t as sweet as a typical bakery cupcake and the frosting on top is light and airy. Vanilla is the biggest flavor hit in the shake, but you may want to ask for a spoon because the confetti sprinkles get trapped in the straw quite a bit! Overall, this is a great shake for kids or families to share. Its bright colors and over-the-top looks make for some cute pictures. That’s if you can wait to dig in!

Priced at $14.91 including tax, this shake is a pricier option at Disney Springs, but if you plan on sharing, and consider that it is at least two desserts in one, it’s not as steep as it sounds. The shake can be found for a limited time at Vivoli Il Gelato in Disney Springs! Get yours soon!

Donald Duck Cupcake Recipe

Donald Duck Cupcake Recipe Donald Duck

Who gets stuck with all the bad luck?! No one, but Donald Duck!

We can remember this catchy tune being used in the introduction of Donald Duck’s classic cartoon shorts. Fortunately, Donald gets to enjoy being a lucky Duck this week! He first appeared on June 9, 1934. Today, we’ll show you how to make your very own Donald Duck cupcake so you can celebrate at home.

Ingredients

  • Batch of baked cupcakes
  • White frosting
  • Yellow Swedish Fish candies
  • Kitchen knife or scissors
  • Small black jellybeans
  • Tube of black decorating icing

Directions

  1. Frost the cupcakes, using the knife to pull the frosting up into a couple feathery peaks at the top of the head.
  2. For a duck bill, slice a yellow Swedish Fish candy in half lengthwise. Then press the two halves into the frosting, separating them slightly, at the very edge of the cupcake top (opposite the feathery frosting peaks).
  3. For eyes, press two black jellybeans into the frosting. Use the black decorating icing to pipe on curved eyebrows about 3/8 inch above the eyes.

Make Snow White and the Seven Dwarves Donuts at Home

Snow White Donut

Everyone knows that if Snow White could have saved herself a lot of trouble if she’d had a donut instead of that apple. If you’d also like to stay on the safe side but make sure that your snack is the fairest of them all, then try making these ”Snow White and the Seven Dwarves” donuts!
This Disney recipe requires a donut pan and makes 12 baked rings of deliciousness. No need for wishing wells, they’re pretty easy to make!

Ingredients

DONUTS:

  • 2 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 Cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tsp baking powder
  • 2 Tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 Cup whole milk
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 Cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 Tsp vanilla extract
  • Donut pans
  • Piping or zip-top bag
  • Scissors
  • Toothpick

GLAZE:

  • 2 Cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 Tsp clear vanilla extract
  • 1/2 Cup heavy cream
  • Gel food coloring (red, blue, green, yellow, brown, beige)
  • Piping or zip-top bags
  • Toothpicks

DECORATION:

  • Melted dark chocolate
  • Shredded coconut
  • ROYAL ICING (HATS, APPLE STEM & LEAF):
  • 2 Cups powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp meringue powder
  • 1/4 Tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 Cup warm water
  • Gel food coloring (red, green, yellow, blue, brown, purple)
  • Piping or zip-top bags

DIRECTIONS:

  •  Preheat oven to 350° F.
  •  Spray the donut pans with non-stick cooking spray or coat with melted butter. Set the pans aside.
  •  In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.

  •  In a smaller bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, butter, applesauce, and vanilla extract.
  •  Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir together until all are combined and no flour clumps remain. Try not to overmix the batter!
  •  Pipe the batter into the donut cavities using a piping or zip-top bag. Cut a corner off the bottom and pipe the batter into each cavity, filling 3/4 of the way. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes.

  •  Remove donuts from the oven and allow to cool in the pan before inverting them onto a wire rack. (Tip: To help release the donuts, use a toothpick to loosen the sides.) While they’re cooling, make the glaze.
  •  In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream. (If the glaze is too thick, add additional cream-about 1/2 teaspoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached).

  •  Divide the icing into 7 small bowls to make red, beige, brown, green, blue, yellow, and white (leave icing as is for white).

  •  Add food coloring into each bowl, corresponding to each of the character’s clothing. For Snow White and the Dwarfs, dip 1/3 of each into the beige icing for their faces. Then add on a nose with the same beige color, using a toothpick. Spread on the other colors for their clothes with the back of a small spoon.

  •  For the Dwarfs’ beards, pipe white icing then sprinkle shredded coconut on top.

  •  Using melted dark chocolate and a toothpick, draw the faces, belts, and Snow White’s hair.
  •  Make the royal icing: Add powdered sugar, meringue powder, vanilla extract, and water into the bowl of a stand mixer with the whisk attachment. Start mixing on low until incorporated and then beat on medium-high until stiff peaks form (around 5 minutes).
  •  Divide the icing into separate bowls and add the food coloring needed for each detail (hats, bow, and apple leaf/stem). Then use the royal icing to pipe the shapes onto parchment paper (red for Snow White’s bow, green for the apple leaf/stem, and various colors for the hats). Let them dry (takes approximately 1-2 hours).

  •  Then peel off the parchment. Attach the pieces onto the character donuts with a bit of white royal icing (which acts as glue), and they’re ready to go. Enjoy!
