Let’s Grab a Slice! Pizza Ponte Has Reopened in Disney World

Disney Springs is back OPEN with places to shop and spots to grab a bite.

Pizza Ponte

While Disney-owned locations won’t be opening until May 27th, there are still SO many restaurants and stores that will be greeting guests again. Today, we’re making our way over to the newly-reopened Pizza Ponte to see how they’re handling the changes.

Pizza Ponte is one of the Pantina Restaurant Group locations reopening (you can see the rest of them here!) to guests in Disney Springs. Currently, the restaurant will be open from 12PM to 8PM with limited menu options. But, these hours are always subject to change!

Pizza Ponte

Patina recently stated that they would be instituting a Dine Safe: Commitment to Care program in order to make sure that health concerns and risks are minimized during operation and the hygiene protocols are at the CDC standard or above.

The Dine Safe Plan stated that the dining room would have the following requirements: face coverings for guests except while eating or drinking, redesigned table layout to allow distancing, enhanced cleaning and sanitation protocols, the addition of hand-sanitizing stations, controlled access through designated entrances and exits, and single-use menus.

Dine Safe Certifications and Hand Sanitizer

When we arrived at Pizza Ponte, there were clearly marked entrances and exits for guests to use so the restaurant could control its flow of traffic.

Pizza Ponte

The spot encouraged the use of a QR code menu to reduce contact points with other guests. They had the menu posted as well.

Pizza Ponte Menu

The floor had plenty of clear markings reminding guests to physically distance.

Pizza Ponte

Pizza Ponte has changed its seating lay-out to separate tables to comply with its new procedures as well.

Pizza Ponte

As a part of the Dine Safe program, the Patina restaurant employees will be undergoing health checks when they get to work, sanitizing their hands when they arrive and continue to wash and sanitize their hands every 20 minutes of their shift, wearing masks while they’re at Pizza Ponte, and taking part in a comprehensive training program.

Pizza Ponte

At this time, Pizza Ponte is taking cashless payments only. There was hand sanitizer available at the register too!

Pizza Ponte

We thought that Pizza Ponte upheld the standards that both Disney Springs and the Patina Restaurant Group set in place to keep guests and employees safe. Stay tuned with Disney Food Blog as we explore a reopened Disney Springs for the next few weeks!

Are you visiting Disney Springs during its re-opening day? Let us know in the comments below!

Full List of All the Live-Action Remakes Coming from Walt Disney Studios

Full List of All the Live-Action Remakes Coming from Walt Disney Studios. Disney has seen raging success with live-action remakes, with a few snubs here and there, but so far the trend has earned the company several billion dollars in the last few years alone so it seems the famed film studio plans to keep the trend going as long as they can.

With the launch of Disney+, the all new streaming service including titles from Marvel Studios, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic, and all things Disney, there is a new demand not only for theatrical released films, but for exclusive content intended for Disney+.

It appears that Disney will be using this avenue to remake some of our favorite and underrated Disney Classics as well as release plenty of live-action remakes in theaters. Here is what we can expect from Disney in the 20’s:

Mulan (July 24, 2020)

“When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father.”

Cruella (May 28, 2021)

Cruella follows a young Cruella de Vil in a villain origin story that takes place prior to the events of 101 Dalmatians, which first hit screens as an animated film in 1961 and in 1996 got a live-action version starring Glenn Close and Jeff Daniels.”

Aladdin (2019) Sequel

A sequel is reportedly in the works for Aladdin (2019), but will likely premiere on Disney+. It is currently unknown if the original cast will reprise their roles.

The Jungle Book Sequel

The sequel is slotted to have Jon Favreau return as director for the film with Justin Sparks penning the script. It is currently unknown if the original cast will reprise their roles.

Lilo & Stitch

“A tale of a young girl’s close encounter with the galaxy’s most wanted extraterrestrial. Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly “dog,” whom she names Stitch. Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren’t in reality a genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Through her love, faith and unwavering belief in ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family, Lilo helps unlock Stitch’s heart and gives him the ability to care for someone else.”

A live-action adaption of Lilo & Stitch will feature live-action actors for the human characters and filming locations, but will feature CGI characters such as Stitch, Pleakley, Jumba, The Grand Councilwoman, and more. Mike Van Waes is slotted to write the script for the film, and Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich will produce. It is also currently unknown if the live-action film will premiere in theaters or on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+.

Peter Pan & Wendy

“Wendy and her two brothers are amazed when a magical boy named Peter Pan flies into their bedroom, supposedly in pursuit of his rebellious shadow. He and his fairy friend, Tinkerbell, come from a far-off place called Neverland, where children stay perpetually young. Enchanted, the kids follow him back. But when Pan’s nemesis, the pirate Captain Hook, causes trouble, the kids begin to miss their old life.”

The film will star Ever Anderson (Wendy Darling) and Alexander Molony (Peter Pan).

The Little Mermaid

The film will star Halle Bailey (Ariel), Melissa McCarthy (Ursula), Jonah Hauer-King (Prince Eric), Javier Bardem (King Triton), David Diggs (Sebastian), Awkwafina (Scuttle),and Jacob Tremblay (Flounder).

Original songs from the 1989 animated classic will be incorporated into the new movie, as well as new tunes from original composer Alan Menken with lyrics by “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. Miranda is also producing the film with Marshall, Marc Platt, and John DeLuca.

Hercules

The live-action remake of Hercules will feature music from the original animated film as well as new music from famed composer and Disney Legend, Alan Menken. Joe and Anthony Russo are acting as producers on the project, with a. script being penned by Dave Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings).

Robin Hood

“An amiable rooster called Alan-a-Dale tells stories and sings songs of the heroic Robin Hood and his trusty sidekick, Little John, in this animated animal-themed adaptation of the legendary story. When evil Prince John deputizes the Sheriff of Nottingham to collect unreasonable taxes from the animals of Sherwood Forest, Robin, Little John and the other merry men wage a lighthearted battle against their evil foes.”

The remake is rumored to be modeled similarly to The Lion King and will feature anthropomorphic characters with the use of VFX and CGI over real sets and locations. Set to direct the film is Carlos Lopez Estrada (Blindspotting) and penning the script is Kari Granlund (Lady and the Tramp(2019), Godmothered). Justin Springer (Tron: Legacy, Dumbo) is signed on to produce the film for Disney+.

Pinocchio

“A dark, twisted retelling of the famous Carlo Collodi fairy tale about the wooden puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy. When Pinocchio comes to life, he turns out not to be that nice of a boy, creating mischief and playing mean tricks. He eventually learns a few lessons.”

Robert Zemeckis is set to direct,  It is also currently unknown if the “live-action” Pinocchio will premiere in theaters or on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

“Jealous of Snow White’s beauty, the wicked queen orders the murder of her innocent stepdaughter, but later discovers that Snow White is still alive and hiding in a cottage with seven friendly little miners. Disguising herself as a hag, the queen brings a poisoned apple to Snow White, who falls into a death-like sleep that can be broken only by a kiss from the prince.”

Marc Webb is set to direct the film with Erin Cressida penning the script.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame

“Quasimodo, the bell-ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral, bides his time locked away in a tower. With only gargoyles and occasional visits from Judge Claude Frollo to keep him company, Quasimodo longs to be with other people, leading to his chance encounter with the enchanting Gypsy, Esmeralda. When the beautiful young woman catches the attention of Quasimodo’s guardian, sinister Frollo, Quasimodo must help to keep her out of his clutches.”

No production members or casting choices have been announced at this time.

Bambi

“A young deer named Bambi joins his new friends, a rabbit named Thumper and a skunk named Flower, in exploring his forest home. As a boy, he learns from his doting mother and his father, The Great Prince of the Forest, that there are dangers in the open meadows where hunters can spot the animals, and he meets a beautiful young doe named Faline. As Bambi grows up, he learns that there is tragedy as well as beauty and joy in his forest world and on the path to adulthood.”

The remake is rumored to be modeled similarly to The Lion King and will feature anthropomorphic characters with the use of VFX and CGI over real sets and locations.Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) and Lindsey Beer are set to pen the script.

The Sword in the Stone

“As an orphaned child, Arthur, who was then known as Wart, wants to help his foster brother, Kay, succeed in becoming a knight. Merlin does his best to convince the boy that he is bound for greatness, and when Wart and Kay travel to London to attend a jousting contest, they learn that Merlin was right.” The live-action The Sword in the Stone is set to release exclusively on Disney+.

We can’t wait to see these titles, and many others, when they come to theaters or Disney+! What live-action remakes or new titles are you excited to see? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

The Four Things in Disney World You’ve Never Done…But You NEED To Try!

Whether you’re heading to Disney World to ride ALL the attractions or to go on some epic snack crawls, there’s a wide variety of things to do in the parks.

Happily Ever After

While we love seeing some of our favorite shows and hugging the characters, it’s pretty easy to get stuck in the same Disney routine as EVERY other guest. But, there are actually unique experiences that most visitors don’t see very often!

So, the next time you visit Disney World, we recommend going on an adventure to check out these 4 things you’ve never done before in the parks!

Disney World Monorail

Behind-the-Scenes Tours

Ever wanted to know how Disney grows some of their own food in Epcot? Or, have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with some of the animals in Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Well, you may not know that Disney has a series of behind-the-scenes tours that give you an exclusive look at the parks. Yeah, it’s just as cool as it sounds!!

Living with the Land

Each tour offers a unique experience in one of the Disney Parks (or even ALL of them on some bigger tours) by a VIP tour guide.

You can look at the African animals in Disney’s Animal Kingdom on the Wild Africa Trek, explore behind the scenes in the Land Pavilion in Epcot on the Behind the Seeds Tour, get a peek at the underground tunnel systems in Magic Kingdom on the Backstage Magic tour (!!!), or even take an in-depth look at the World Showcase Pavilions during DestiNations Discovered!

Elephant on Kilimanjaro Safaris

There are SO many tours to pick from that it’s almost too hard to choose (almost).

Spent Time at the BoardWalk

Did you know that although Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is a Disney hotel, it also has an entire BoardWalk area open to the public? The BoardWalk is filled with fun activities, whether you’re looking for a new spot to relax or somewhere to grab a bite to eat.

Disney’s BoardWalk

The inside of the resort actually holds a lot of history you might not know about as well! If you look up on the fireplace of the BoardWalk Inn, you can spot Lucy the Elephant. Over in Margate City, New Jersey (the coastal town that Disney’s BoardWalk Inn pulls its influence from), Lucy is a building that was built in 1881.

It has drawn visitors into the town for years and now this smaller re-creation creates a bit of extra Disney magic at the BoardWalk!

Nanny Chairs and Lucy the Elephant

Even though we know you’re totally getting your steps in traveling the parks (it’s justification for all those snacks ;D), the BoardWalk has surrey bikes that your whole family can rent to travel all the way around the resort area! These can be VERY fun and bring lots of laughter to your family as you work together to bike uphill or cruise around the lake.

Surrey Bike

While there are plenty of places to dine at the BoardWalk, like the Flying Fish or Trattoria al Forno, you can also snag some of the BEST desserts at the BoardWalk Bakery! We’ve tried anything and everything from the Unicorn Cupcake, Valentine’s Macaron, and their classic Cinnamon Roll.

Seasonal Cupcake

Plus, BoardWalk Joe’s just across the way features some great cocktails you can sip on as you stroll around the BoardWalk in the Florida sunshine or the twinkling evening lights.

BoardWalk Joe’s

But, one of our FAVORITE spots in Disney World actually happens to be at the end of the BoardWalk! Jellyrolls is an adult-only dueling piano bar that has tasty drinks and fantastic music.

Jellyrolls

You’re bound to have a wonderful time as the performers sing hit songs (and take PLENTY of requests) that will have everyone partying along with them!

Relaxed at the Enchanted Rose Lounge

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is a GORGEOUS resort that features a live band in the lobby most days, direct access to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot by way of the Monorail system, and the recently opened Enchanted Rose Lounge. This lounge is a true hidden gem in the Grand Floridian!

Enchanted Rose Bar Area

Like its name suggests, the Enchanted Rose features four uniquely designed rooms that are inspired by Beauty and the Beast (can you spot Cogsworth and Mrs. Potts??).

The Library

Enchanted Rose opens at 1PM daily and has a more upscale lounge menu than you might find at other Disney bars, with starters served from 5PM to 10PM along with cocktails, martinis, beers, hard ciders, and wine.

Enchanted Rose Food

Some of the cocktails are inspired by Beauty and the Beast, while others have unique names and flavors! Are you feeling the Envy or Love Cocktail more?? These two drinks are prepared tableside for you!

Preparing Both the Love and Envy Cocktails

Since the monorail connects directly to the resort, the Enchanted Rose Lounge is a hot spot to visit before or after you spend time in Magic Kingdom.

Hopped on ALL the Main Street Transportation

Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom is home to trolleys, horse-drawn streetcars, a fire engine, a jitney car, and more. And, guess what?? You can ride them all!!

Main Street, U.S.A. Horse-Drawn Trolley

The transportation doesn’t just add to the atmosphere (even though we love it) — they’re actually really memorable ways to spend time with your family members or take a break from the hustle and bustle of the park as you go up and down Main Street.

Note that you can’t ride some of the transportation during the Main Street Trolley Show at 9:15AM, 10:10AM, and 12PM! But, you can still ride them at other available times on most days in the park!

Main Street Trolley Show

Note that these vehicles are only out typically in the morning hours, so if you don’t mind Rope Dropping the Magic Kingdom, you’ll be in for a treat when you walk down Main Street!

Disney World is just one of those places that keeps creating new magic every time we go! It doesn’t matter if you’re a new friend or an old pal — Disney keeps on surprising all of us with interesting places and special things to do in the parks!

What are some of your favorite things to do in Disney World? Let us know in the comments below!
