NEWS: Anaheim Mayor Releases a Statement About the Reopening of Disneyland Resort

Disneyland Resort has released a reopening proposal including reopening dates.

If the proposal is approved by state and local governments, the reopening will kick-off with Downtown Disney beginning on July 9th, followed by Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure on July 17th. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will welcome back guests on July 23rd, while Disneyland Hotel will initially remain closed.

In response to the news, Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu has expressed his thoughts! In a statement released on Twitter, Mayor Sidhu said, “We could see the reopening of Disneyland 65 years to the day from when Walt Disney opened his first theme park in our city. This is a major milestone in the recovery of Anaheim, California and our nation. We know Disney will be able to meet the challenge of reopening safely, and Anaheim stands ready to see that happen.”

We will continue to keep an eye out for official approval of Disneyland’s reopening proposal from the state and local governments.

NEWS! Disneyland Announces That Certain Entertainment Will Be Suspended Upon Reopening

As of today, Disneyland has proposed a plan for reopening!

Several days ago, we reported that signs indicated that Disneyland might reopen in July. And our suspicions were confirmed today when Disneyland proposed a reopening date of July 17th for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure!

As with the reopening plan for Disney World, there will be a number of new health and safety measures implemented when the parks begin to welcome back guests.

As part of the new health and safety measures, experiences that draw large group gatherings like parades and nighttime spectaculars will be temporarily suspended. These performances will return at a later date, although an exact timeline has not been determined. This mirrors what we’ve seen announced for Disney World.

Character meet-and-greets will also be temporarily unavailable, although according to Disney, the characters will be in the parks, “in new ways to entertain and delight guests.”

The Disneyland reopening plan needs to be approved by the state and local governments before it is finalized, so we’ll continue to keep an eye out for any updates!

A BIG Update Points to a Potential Mid-July Reopening for Disneyland

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the Disneyland website looking for any evidence regarding when California’s Disney theme parks could be reopening!

And it just so happens we noticed an indicator today that Disneyland could potentially be reopening in July!

Now that Disney World will begin a phased reopening starting July 11th, we’re anxiously awaiting the same news regarding Disneyland! So far, Disneyland hasn’t made an official announcement regarding its reopening date, so we can’t confirm anything quite yet BUT we did notice Disneyland is now selling park tickets starting July 16th!

And if you’re a Disneyland devotee, you’ll know July 17th is the 65th anniversary of Walt’s original theme park. Could Disneyland be gearing up to reopen in time for a BIG celebration?!? It’s possible, especially because theme parks in California are technically allowed to reopen in Phase 3 (which could begin as early as this month).

It’s also important to note that the Disneyland website still states that reservations are available beginning July 15th.

We recently shared that thousands of Disney World Cast Members were being called back to work to begin training on Disney’s new health and safety procedures. The same will need to be Disneyland’s Cast Members, which to our knowledge hasn’t happened yet. That doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of time to get it all done, though!

We’ll be keeping a watchful eye on Disneyland — but for now, you might want to snag some park tickets and hope for the best!

Keep in mind, we don’t know if Disneyland will also implement a new reservation system like Disney World to limit the number of guests who may visit each day. We’ll provide you with more information as soon as it’s released!

Disney Recipe: Send Your Tastebuds to the Tropics With Disneyland’s Hawaiian Cheeseburger Recipe!

Oh, Disneyland Resort, what great food you have!!

While we totally have been craving some churros and all the snacks that Disneyland has to offer, we’ve got a way to take a trip to the parks straight from your kitchen!

Tangaroa Terrace is a great spot to chill out before hitting up the pool at the Disneyland Hotel. And, you can get grilling with you family this weekend by making Tangaroa Terrace’s famous Hawaiian Cheeseburgers (they’re just as good as they sound)!

Hawaiian Cheeseburger

Yup, our stomachs are already growling!! So, let’s get cooking and grilling with this Hawaiian Cheeseburger recipe from Disneyland!

Ingredients:

You’ll need several ingredients to make the different parts of the Hawaiian Cheeseburger! First, you need to make the Slaw Dressing Green Papaya Slaw, Teriyaki Sauce, and Burgers separately before putting them all together to make one of the most tropical sandwiches around!

Do you have everything ready to go? Let’s start mixing!

Recipe:

Start by making the Slaw Dressing before mixing it in to your Green Papaya Slaw 30 minutes before serving.

The Teriyaki Sauce brings that smoky and sweet flavor to the burger that is just SO good, we could eat three whole cheeseburgers just for the sauce!

After you’ve mixed up all your sauces and toppings, you’ll want to cook some bacon and pineapples before grilling your meat.

Disney Recipe: Make PB & J Rolls from Disney California Adventure’s Lamplight Lounge

Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure’s Pixar Pier brings the flavors of childhood together with the class and elegance of adulthood (yes, you’re classy).

And now you can make one of these recipes in your own kitchen!

Lamplight Lounge’s Peanut Butter and Jelly Rolls use some of your pantry staples to create a snack that children and adults can both love! So put on your favorite Disney playlist and lets get cooking!

PB&J Roll Plate

Ingredients

8 slices wheat bread
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter, divided
3/4 cup strawberry or grape jelly

Preparation

For Peanut Butter Rolls

Cut crusts off bread. Flatten bread with rolling pin until bread can bind after being rolled.
Spread 1 1/2 tablespoons of peanut butter evenly on each slice of flattened bread, leaving small boarder on all sides – the peanut butter will spread as you roll.
Starting with long side of bread, gently roll up each bread slice into spiral. Cut each roll into 4 even pieces.
Place 8 pieces of rollups onto each plate, seam-side down.

For Jelly Drizzle

Place plastic quart-size freezer bag into small cup, folding back first few inches of bag over top of cup. Spoon jelly into bag, gently shaking bag to move jelly to bottom of bag. (Note: If jelly is too thick to drizzle, add small amount of warm water to jelly in small bowl and mix to desired consistency before adding to bag).
Once filled, lift bag from cup and squeeze out excess air from bag and seal bag with a few twists to top of bag. Cut bottom corner of bag with scissors.
Holding right below the twisted top of bag with one hand and guiding with free hand, gently squeeze to drizzle jelly over each peanut butter roll with zigzag motion.
