DIY It’s A Small World Flower Pot Stakes!

Add a touch of magic to your garden with this “It’s a Small World” inspired DIY!

Did you know that “It’s a Small World” opened on May 28th, 1966 at Disneyland Park? That’s why in honor of it’s anniversary, Disney shared a very cute and colorful DIY! It will make you feel as if you were on the happiest cruise that ever sailed!

Plus is super easy! Here’s the list of the things you need and a few simple steps you need to follow to create them. Take a look:

Supplies:

  • 4-5 inch wooden cutouts in circles or hearts
  • 12 inch wooden dowels for the flower stems
  • Basswood sheets, thin enough to be cut with scissors
  • Acrylic paint in solid and/or glitter colors
  • Paintbrushes
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Letter stickers or paint markers
  • Hot glue

Step 1: First we will start painting the cutout circles and hearts as well as the wooden dowels with a base coat of acrylic paint. You can paint them in colors that match the signs from “It’s a Small World” or get creative and improvise!

Step 2: Draw shapes like petals, leaves or small dots on the basswood sheets and cut with scissors. To make it easier, you can cut the small circles with the hole punch.

Step 3: Paint the basswood cutouts with a base coat of acrylic paint. If you need to add more details to them, you can use a fine-tipped paintbrush to make it easier and more precise.

Step 4: If you are using letter stickers, you can paint them with acrylic paint to match the signs from “It’s a Small World” or use markers and write directly on the cutouts.

Step 5: Now it’s time to glue everything together to create mini versions of the iconic flower, heart or leaf signs!

NEWS! Disneyland Resort Pushes Back Date For First Available Hotel Reservations to Mid-July

With Disney World’s theme park reopening set for July 11th, we’ve been looking out for some updates on the status of Disneyland Resort.

The Disneyland Hotel

Up until this point, Disneyland Resort has only been taking new reservations for July 1st and later, but today, they have pushed that date back. Now, Disneyland has pushed that date back.

New reservations for Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel are currently only available for dates July 15th and later. The resort has pushed the earliest reservation date back 15 days from the previous July 1st date.

Disney World was also recently accepting reservations starting July 1st until it was announced that the parks would not be opening until later in the month. Now, reservations and ticket sales are completely on hold so that Disney World can accommodate those who already had reservations.

Not much is known about the reopening of Disneyland at this point but we will be sure to keep you updated as news arises.

Disneyland Resort pushes reservations for July 15th and later

The Disneyland Resort has now pushed reservations for July 15th later, according to their website.

Guests who are interested in modifying their existing travel dates or making a new reservation for a future vacation, reservations are currently available for travel dates July 15, 2020, and later. As always, Guests are able to modify these bookings if the Disneyland Resort opens before or after that time.

Disneyland Resort will work with Guests who have Disneyland Resort hotel room reservations that may be impacted by our temporary closure. To provide additional flexibility, we are waiving Disney-imposed change and cancellation fees up to the date of check-in for reservations with arrivals through July 15, 2020. If you are unable to reach us before your check-in date, you will not be penalized or assessed fees for modifying or canceling your Disneyland Resort hotel room reservation after your check-in date.

There is still no word on when the Disneyland Resort will resume operations.

DIY Disney: Bring the Disney Parks Home With This “it’s a small world” Craft!

Does anyone else get the “it’s a small world” theme song stuck in their heads from just reading the name??

And now, you can bring some of that “world of laughter” into your home with a new Disney DIY project!

You can make the “hello” and “goodbye” signs from the attraction to put in your flower pots or vases around the house thanks to Disney Family!

And, oh my goodness, they are so CUTE!!

What You’ll Need

  • 4–5-inch wooden cutouts, in circles or hearts
  • 12-inch wooden dowels, for the flower stems
  • Basswood sheets, thin enough to be cut with scissors
  • Acrylic paint, in solid or glitter colors
  • Paintbrushes
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Letter stickers or paint markers (optional)
  • Hot glue

How To Make Them

Paint the wooden cutouts and wooden dowels with a base coat of acrylic paint in colors that match the flower or heart signs from “it’s a small world.” Allow to dry completely. For any shapes that are not found already pre-cut (like petals, leaves, or small dots), the desired shape can be drawn onto thin basswood sheets and cut out with scissors.

Small dots can be punched out from the wood sheet using a hole punch. Paint any basswood cutouts with a base coat of the acrylic paint. Allow to dry completely. If more details are needed, use fine-tipped paintbrushes to add details atop the base coat of paint.

If you’re using letter stickers, paint them with acrylic paint in colors that match the signs from “it’s a small world.” Paint markers can also be used to write out any script.

Add any final paint details with a fine-tipped paintbrush. Hot glue the finished wood pieces together to create mini versions of the iconic flower, heart, or leaf signs.

Disney Recipe: Send Your Tastebuds to the Tropics With Disneyland’s Hawaiian Cheeseburger Recipe!

Oh, Disneyland Resort, what great food you have!!

While we totally have been craving some churros and all the snacks that Disneyland has to offer, we’ve got a way to take a trip to the parks straight from your kitchen!

Tangaroa Terrace is a great spot to chill out before hitting up the pool at the Disneyland Hotel. And, you can get grilling with you family this weekend by making Tangaroa Terrace’s famous Hawaiian Cheeseburgers (they’re just as good as they sound)!

Yup, our stomachs are already growling!! So, let’s get cooking and grilling with this Hawaiian Cheeseburger recipe from Disneyland!

Ingredients:

You’ll need several ingredients to make the different parts of the Hawaiian Cheeseburger! First, you need to make the Slaw Dressing Green Papaya Slaw, Teriyaki Sauce, and Burgers separately before putting them all together to make one of the most tropical sandwiches around!

Do you have everything ready to go? Let’s start mixing!

Recipe:

Start by making the Slaw Dressing before mixing it in to your Green Papaya Slaw 30 minutes before serving.

The Teriyaki Sauce brings that smoky and sweet flavor to the burger that is just SO good, we could eat three whole cheeseburgers just for the sauce!

After you’ve mixed up all your sauces and toppings, you’ll want to cook some bacon and pineapples before grilling your meat.
