Disney World’s theme parks are gearing up to reopen next month, and to prepare several Disney World resort hotels are getting ready to welcome back guests starting next week!

NEWS! Disney World Just Changed A LOT Of Menus, and We’ve Got The DETAILS!

Walt Disney World

But if you’re looking forward to enjoying one of your favorite meals at one of these Disney World restaurants, you might be out of luck!

Just like we saw right before several restaurants reopened in Disney Springs, menus are getting slashed left and right! We’ve seen lots of starters, appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, desserts, and kids’ menu selections fly out the window today! But don’t worry — it’s not all bad news! Several restaurants have added a bunch of new boozy drinks! Let’s find out if your favorite menu items have survived the chopping block.

Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort

Beaches & Cream

One of our favorite spots to eat at Disney World is Beaches & Cream! So far, they’ve cut the Beaches & Cream Salad, Patty Melt, Turkey and Applewood-smoked Bacon Sandwich, and Salmon Sandwich with Bacon Aioli from the menu.

NEWS! Disney World Just Changed A LOT Of Menus, and We’ve Got The DETAILS!

No Way Jose Sundae

They’ve also erased their Plant-based Bowl of Chili, Chicken Noodle Soup, and dessert offerings including Apple À la Mode and Beaches Chocolate Cake! Never fret, though! You’ll still be able to get your Kitchen Sinks and No Way José Sundaes! They’ve re-emerged unscathed!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Sanaa

We love dining at Sanaa where you can watch exotic animals grazing while you eat (or are THEY watching US eat?!). Either way, you won’t find Shrimp Tinashe Sauté, Boerewors and Spiced Eggs, Lamb Kefta Skewers, Shrimp Over Harvest Salad, Boerewors Braai Grilled South African Sausage, Kenya Coffee Barbecue Sandwich, or Seasonal Sustainable Fish on the lunch menu any longer!

Those are all the menu changes we’ve noticed so far, but we’ll be on the lookout for more, especially now that we know when Disney World hotel guests will be able to book dining reservations once again!

Did your favorite menu item get slashed? Let us know if your favorite foods survived this round of Disney World menu cuts in the comments below!

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

We’re anxiously counting down the days until the Disney World theme parks reopen next month!

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

Magic Kingdom

But before they do, we’ve already booked a stay at one of the Disney World’s resort hotels which will be reopening in just a matter of days!

We’re already shown you guys our attempt at trying to place a MagicBand order now that the parks have an official reopening date and now we’re back to walk you through our experience with Disney World’s online check-in system!

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

View of Magic Kingdom From Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney World is encouraging all guests to use online check-in since it’s quick, easy, and perhaps most importantly — contactless! You can do this on either Disney’s website or using the My Disney Experience app. Once you begin to check-in, Disney will ask you for your contact information so they may communicate with you via text. And don’t forget — starting June 22nd, guests will be able to access a way to virtually chat with Resort Cast Members via the My Disney Experience app.

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

Screenshot from Disney World’s Online Check-In

Disney World says they may send you up to two emails or text messages prior to your arrival notifying you when your room ready. If you’re already received your MagicBand in the mail, you might receive up to three additional emails so you can go straight to your room and bypass the front desk completely. You’ll be able to unlock your room via My Disney Experience’s digital key feature or using your MagicBand.

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

Standard check-in will still be available, and guests whose MagicBands have been shipped to the resort will be able to pick them up at the front desk. For the next step, Disney asked us what our estimated arrival time was and if we’d like to have housekeeping service every other day (or every 4th and 8th day for Disney Vacation Club members) or decline it completely.

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

We were told every other day housekeeping would include light cleaning services such as the emptying of trash bins, replacement of linens, replenishing bath amenities including facial tissue and toilet paper, as well as an in-room coffee supplies including cream, sugar and other sweeteners.

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

If you have multiple rooms reserved, your selection will be applied to all of the rooms on your reservation.

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

For our resort, we were still allowed to make up to two-room location requests, although not every Disney World hotel offers guests this option in the app. Based on which resort you’ve selected, you might have to make your room requests over the phone.

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

Once we finished our online check-in, we received this confirmation screen and were instructed to use Disney World’s Direct-to-Room service upon our arrival.

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

This means we’re all set to head straight to our room once Disney World texts us our room number! We can use either the app or our MagicBands to unlock our door since we bringing some MagicBands from a previous trip that are already linked with our accounts.

Here’s What Disney World’s Online Check-In For Resort Hotel Guests Looks Like!

All in all, the check-in process couldn’t be more straight-forward or easy-peasy! Let us know if you have any questions regarding your trip to Disney World and we hope to get them answered for you while we wait for ticket sales and bookings to resume once the new reservation system is unveiled!

New Disney Mug Alert! Toy Story Fans Will Flip When They See This One!

NEW Toy Story Mug at WOD

Woody, and Forky, and Buzz — oh my! This adorable mug is no child’s plaything.

While we’ve seen lots of cute new merch popping up at World of Disney since it reopened on May 27, like the Forky Plush Bag, Rainbow Collection Ear Hat Ornament, and “M” (for Mickey) Baseball Cap, we’re craving a little Toy Story Land action with this one.

New Disney Mug Alert! Toy Story Fans Will Flip When They See This One!

These are a few of our favorite things!

If our favorite characters weren’t enough, the handle of this mug even features building block-like images of Woody, Buzz, and each Disney World Park logo for extra flair.

New Disney Mug Alert! Toy Story Fans Will Flip When They See This One!

Take me back to the parks, please!

We are having a difficult time deciding which park we are missing most and this mug handle certainly isn’t helping. However, it is making the countdown to the reopenings starting July 11 that much more exciting!

New Disney Mug Alert! Toy Story Fans Will Flip When They See This One!

No trash for you, Forky!

This colorful retro mug is $19.99 and will be perfect for a cup of coffee when you attempt to make some Lunch Box Tarts from home, among other Woody’s Lunch Box classics we’ve been craving.

REVIEW: We Are Drooling Over This Boozy Beverage at Coca-Cola Beverage Bar in Disney Springs!

You know what they say — when you open a Coke, you open happiness! That has never been more spot-on than when we tried the Coca-Cola Brownie Masher today at the Coca-Cola Beverage Bar in Disney Springs.

REVIEW: We Are Drooling Over This Boozy Beverage at Coca-Cola Beverage Bar in Disney Springs!

Coca-Cola Brownie Masher

Just look at that beauty! We are still salivating over how rich and sweet it was.

This drink, nay, dream of a beverage is made up of Fairlife Chocolate Milk, Stoli Vodka, Kahlúa Rum, Ice Cream, and is topped off with a Coca-Cola Brownie.

REVIEW: We Are Drooling Over This Boozy Beverage at Coca-Cola Beverage Bar in Disney Springs!

Look at all these goodies!

While we know you are supposed to “share a Coke”, our inner toddlers came out and we had trouble sharing something we wanted so badly for ourselves. Just look at that whipped cream! It doesn’t even look real, it’s so perfectly topped!

REVIEW: We Are Drooling Over This Boozy Beverage at Coca-Cola Beverage Bar in Disney Springs!

Just wanted to take another look at you…

As we reported yesterday, the Coca-Cola Store and Beverage Bar has officially reopened and is eagerly welcoming guests back so if you’re craving what we would describe as a boozy brown cow, this drink may just be for you.

REVIEW: We Are Drooling Over This Boozy Beverage at Coca-Cola Beverage Bar in Disney Springs!

Let the chocolate coma commence!

While it is on the higher end in terms of cost, coming in at $15.00, we think the Coca-Cola Brownie makes it worth the steeper price tag. By the way, it was our first time trying the brownie and it is soooo good!

REVIEW: We Are Drooling Over This Boozy Beverage at Coca-Cola Beverage Bar in Disney Springs!

Nom, nom, nom.

This drink is definitely on the creamier side and it will certainly cool you down in the steamy Orlando sun. We’ve been having a great time swinging by one of our old stomping grounds and testing out old faithfuls as well as their drink of the month, the Simply Refresher.

Now please excuse us while we daydream about our new chocolate-y friend…

Have you tried the Coca-Cola Brownie Masher yet? Tell us what you thought of it in the comments below!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

We’re desperately trying not to hyperventilate, but there is some pretty interesting news coming out of Disney Springs this morning regarding one of our favorite baked goods!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies

As you know by now, The Polite Pig‘s Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookie is one of the cornerstones of our diets, but as of today these half-pound miracles that are studded all over with chocolate chips have disappeared and aren’t likely to RETURN!

But before you go crawling into a corner, here’s some good news! You’ll still be able to get your Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies at the bakery’s main location in Downtown Orlando (whew!). AND The Polite Pig has replaced them with a new signature item called they’re calling the Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie

At first glance, this new Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie looks remarkably similar to a Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookie, but we can assure you they aren’t the same! Even though this cookie is also loaded for bear with chocolate chips and even has flecks of salt sprinkled over it, just LOOK at how much flatter it is!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie

But if you’re like us, you’re probably more concerned with how this new cookie tastes! We were told it’s The Polite Pig’s new exclusive recipe and it even has a little bit of Evan Williams Bourbon in it! We took our first bite not knowing what the future would hold in store for us and this new cookie substitute we gotta say — this new Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie is actually quite tasty!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie

It has some cinnamon notes from the bourbon which we noticed more with each glorious bite. And unlike Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies which so so super-rich we often can’t finish them in one sitting, this one was pretty easy to polish off! It’s definitely a soft, delicious cookie that’s not as buttery than Gideon’s. It also noticeably less chewy and has more of that half-baked texture that we happen to love in a cookie!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie

That’s not to say we’re forsaking our love of Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies, but The Polite Pig’s new Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie definitely stands up on its own. It would be amazing with a glass of bourbon or an Old Fashion whereas a Gideon’s always made us crave a glass of milk!

And unlike Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies, there’s no limit on how many Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookies you may buy at one time! They cost $5 and are available all day long ( or until they sell out)! The Polite Pig says they’re hoping to add more cookie recipes to their repertoire someday, and we can’t be made about any of their recent menu changes which also includes new Pork Rinds with spicy pimento dipping sauce, Shrimp and Grits and Creamed Florida Corn because the results have been delicious!

What do you think of The Polite Pig removing Gideon Bakehouse Cookies and replacing them with their own recipe? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
