Tron 3 in development starting Jared Leto

Tron 3 in development starting Jared Leto Tron 3

Breaking news! The Disney company has announced that ‘Tron 3’ is officially in development!

Jared Leto is reportedly being considered to star in the next exciting chapter of the Tron movie franchise. Disney is also searching for a movie director for the sequel. Although not confirmed, it’s hoped that Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski will return.

Disney music executive Mitchell Leib discussed the future of the Tron franchise in a recent podcast. He first talked about working with Daft Punk on the music for Tron: Legacy, but then switched into a conversation about the development of a tentative “Tron 3” sequel. He confirmed that Disney already has a script in hand, too. With the success of Disney+, “Tron 3” may come out as a direct-to-streaming movie.

“Now with Disney+, I think there’s opportunities to be creating content that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to create, you know because we’re in the movie business,” Leib explained. “We’re in the big movie business, and unless it’s a big movie idea we don’t make small movies. We’re only after basically billion dollar box office hits. On the one hand, that’s great. On the other hand, that’s a very narrow sleeve to operate in, and Disney+ I think is going to afford us the opportunity to expand and get much more diversified in the kind of content we can create. And Daft Punk has a bit of a television and movie development company, and all kinds of things they’re into, businesses they’re into. So I had lunch with Paul Hahn to further a bit of a starting conversation that we’re looking at making a sequel to Tron now, we’re looking at Tron 3. And we’ve got a great script, I mean a really phenomenal script that we’re very excited about. Whereas the timing wasn’t right to have done it years ago, I think we feel like the timing is right now, and I feel like we’ve learned a lot of lessons from that last movie.”

We’ll provide updates when more information becomes available.

Parades, Fireworks, and Character Meet and Greets Will Be Suspended Upon Disney World’s Reopening

Now that Disney World has announced it plans on reopening Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11th along with Epcot and Hollywood Studios on July 15th, we also know some of the modifications the parks are planning on implementing.

According to Disney’s reopening proposal which took place this morning, Disney World’s theme parks will temporarily suspend its parades, fireworks displays, or character meet-and-greets upon reopening.

Disney World presented the following chart at this morning’s Orange County Economic Task Force meeting where it proposed its gradual reopening plan including tentative reopening dates. Due to social distancing concerns, Disney World has decided to “temporarily suspend its parks, fireworks, and other events that create crowds.”

Disney World stated they will also be “temporarily suspending high touch experiences such as meet and greets and playgrounds.” Disney has also shared that “characters will still be in our parks to entertain and delight our guests.”

At this time, we don’t know when Disney World plans on resuming these guest experiences or if substitutions will be made. When Shanghai Disneyland opened earlier this month, parades, fireworks, and other entertainment offerings were suspended initially, but some stage shows have already resumed while new character processionals had been added throughout the day.

Disney World’s gradual reopening plan has been approved by the Orange County task force, but must be reviewed and finalized by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ before it’s official. We’ll let you know more details as soon as Disney provides additional information.

Disney World plans on using a new reservation system upon its reopening! Learn more about it here!
