Disneyland Paris Open Possibly in June!

If the news is true Disneyland Paris could possibly be open in June! After a week of good news regarding Disney Parks around the world either opening or publishing their plans for reopening, we are hoping for Disneyland Paris to also follow! Since the opening of Shanghai Disney and operating on a limited capacity appears positive, Disney Springs followed suit, with its social distancing plans! Likewise, this week, we have heard that Walt Disney World in Florida will open starting July 11th!

Disneyland Paris Open?

Whilst there has yet to be an official announcement regarding the reopening plans for Disneyland Paris. Some news reports have emerged that could allow both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park to open as soon as June 22nd!

According to DLP Report, they pose that Disneyland Paris could open shortly! Check out their tweet below:

Likewise, according to the French publication Le Monde, where Disneyland Paris is situated, the region shows “reassuring signs” for the popular venues to reopen! That the French Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, classes the region as “orange” and that the region would “benefit from several relaxations, without the restrictions being completely lifted”- could this mean Disneyland Paris opening with similar socially distancing plans like Walt Disney World, including guests and cast members using face coverings? He also said that “the parks and gardens will be able to reopen, possibly subject to wearing a mask. The cafes will also welcome customers again, but only on the terrace. Theaters, performance halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools and sports halls will remain closed until June 21 inclusive”.

Similar to the rest of the World, there is a push for the reopening of many establishments in Paris and France, including Disneyland Paris as it is Europe’s top attraction. Likewise, Disneyland Paris is the largest single-site employer in France, employing 16,000-17,000 permanent employees and hiring on average 8,000 new employees annually! Like all of us here at Chip and Co, including our fans and Disney addicts, we would love to see Disneyland Paris open once again… particularly if Disneyland Paris could possibly be open in June!

Bob Chapek shares more about phased reopening plan for Walt Disney World

Bob Chapek Disney World

Disney CEO Bob Chapek recently shared information about Walt Disney World‘s phased reopening plans.

He recently shared in a CNBC interview, “We want to make sure that what we present to our guests when we open up with a quintessential Disney experience and while we’ll have substantially lower numbers of guests we want to make sure we do it in a responsible way so they can make those life long memories that last a lifetime.”

He also gave an interview to ABC’s Good Morning America. In that interview Chapek provided more details about how Disney executives arrived at their mid-July theme park reopening date, saying, “Well, it’s really a function of working backwards…How much time we need to open up responsibly…Procedures we’ll have to change dramatically. There’s going to be a lot more training, a lot more sanitation, a lot more hygiene, and, of course, social distancing.”

Chapek also discussed Disney World’s new reservation system saying, “And we’re also going to be introducing the brand new reservation system, so these things take time; And what we want to do is get it right the first time. Make steady progress and eventually be able to accommodate more and more Guests.”

Many Disney fans are concerned about the limited park experience (no fireworks, parades, character meet & greets, etc). To that Chapek said “The silver lining is that while not everything inside the park will be open, most things will be open…for those folks that are lucky enough to be able to get in that new reservation system, it’s going to be quite a magical day.”

You can watch the interview below:

Walt Disney World Updates Age for Face Mask Policy

disney world

Disney World released health and safety policies that will be implemented when the theme parks reopen in July. One of those policies is that all guests wear a face covering while visiting the parks. They recently updated the age requirement for wearing a face covering.

All Guests ages 2 and up—along with Cast Members—are required to wear face coverings when visiting Walt Disney World Resort. Please bring your own face coverings and wear them at all times, except when dining or swimming.

All face coverings should:

  • Fully cover an individual’s nose and mouth and allow the Guest to remain hands-free
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Be secured with ties or ear loops
  • Be made of breathable material, either disposable or reusable

Costume masks are not considered appropriate and are prohibited from being worn, in alignment with our existing rules. The use of face coverings is not a substitute for physical distancing.

Wearing a face covering is just one of the changes Disney is making for the upcoming reopening. You can find the other changes here. You’ll also find what you need to know on our sister site, Disney Addicts.

Disney also has face masks for sale on ShopDisney.

New Disney World Website “Experience Updates” Now Available

disney world

Disney has released a lot of news and updates lately regarding their reopening plans for Walt Disney World. You can visit a new “Know Before You Go” hub, “Experience Updates“, to help keep informed on what changes will be made.

The new page explains how cleanliness, physical distancing, and reduced contact is only the start of the measures that will be implemented when Walt Disney World reopens.

The page also mentions a new Park Reservation system that will be in place at the start of the reopenings. Guests will need to have a park reservation and valid admission to the theme park in order to be allowed inside.

At this time, ticket sales and new Resort hotel reservations are put on hold to honor reservations that have already been made. If you have already purchased a ticket or are an Annual Passholder, you will be able to make reservation requests before sales open again.

The site also gives guests a list of top things to know before going to the parks. Just like at Disney Springs, guests going to the parks will need to wear face coverings, go through a temperature check, and practice social distancing.

At the end of the page is a COVID-19 warning. Even with all of the health and safety measures Disney implements, there’s still a risk of exposure. Guests who visit Walt Disney World Resort voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to the virus.

This site will continue to be updated as Disney makes changes and updates its policies.

Disney World Quietly Updates Mask Requirements For Reopening

We just learned that Disney World is temporarily suspending FastPass+ reservations, canceling existing Dining Reservations and Disney Dining Plans, and halting Extra Magic Hours once the parks reopen on the proposed mid-July date.

Magic Kingdom

And now, we noticed a quiet change to the language pertaining to who will be required to wear masks at the parks upon their reopening.

Until now, Disney had stated that guests aged three and up would be required to wear face coverings at all times when visiting the parks.

Now, we’ve spotted that Disney has altered its language to state that guests aged two and up will be required to wear a mask when visiting Disney World.
